I have no say whatsoever, but I'll share my opinion.
A person's username (in time) comes to define them, the people who know you solely through interacting online come to relate you and your personality to that username. By changing your username you subconsciously change people's perspective on you, and in a sense alter who we thought we knew.
I disagree with the name change, but hey it's just a name youre still a great guy. Whatever makes you happy I guess.
