Yeah, that's a huge oversight with this release of the game. There's no reason the UI and text shouldn't scale with the resolution. You'd think there'd be a mod on the steam workshop by now to change the size of the UI, but the only thing I've found is something that lets you alter a .ini file to make the game open at something other than your screen's default resolution, but you can also just change your resolution from the desktop and the game will use that when you play. It's just a little annoying to change back and forth just for one specific game.

Personally, I don't find the text unreadable at 1080p, but the minimap becomes completely useless, which sucks. I think it's worth getting used to playing at 1080p, though because you see more of the playing field and commanding units and building just feels better when you have more room to work with. I've played at 4k though and it's good for a laugh, but it's like looking down from a satellite in space.

Yeah but AoEII is the shit and I don't mind a bumped conversation if we get to talk about one of the only RTS games left that has a large enough community that people unfamiliar with the game can get into it and find games with people who aren't pro-level APM machines.
