I don't see a problem with alts as long as it's not a troll or gimmick account or it's used to evade bans.

This is actually my only account. I just really don't see the use in making alts. What's the point really? If you use them to get past a ban (which I've only had one as far as I know) and if they catch you, there are consequences, and I really don't see what else you would use them for.

I have 3 accounts on here. But I don't post with my other two or do much of anything with them. One of them hasn't been touched at all and on the other I vote for experience and b/p points sometimes.

Some people use them to get around the 4 post limit, and of course some use them to get around bans (which is highly illegal in our world of NG). It's also a way to hide your identity so that nobody judges your primary account.
I don't see the point of alts since I figure that the mods can recognize the IP addresses and I always post with the same computer... or at least I usually do.

I believe an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, so if we banned alts right off (just as an example) we wouldn't need to deal with yours.

If that ALTs aren't abusive, I have no problem with them. Personally I like sticking to a single account though, having all stats collected in the same place has clear benefits.
If people make alts which don't exist for a reason of being dicks without it making themselves look bad then I don't find much wrong with it, but I dislike them myself a lot as I like to recognise users that I actually want to converse with. If someone makes alts I then don't know who it is, and I am likely to not commune with them even if they are someone I would usually actually want to talk to.
