I was wondering if any famous producers started out on newgrounds. I was just curious since I'm like a newbie to the community.

Uh the guy who wrote the music for Bit.Trip Runner was originally from NG.
There's also Xcore.
I really can't of these guys off the top of my head, but there's more than a couple.
Film/Trailer scorer Edgen started here on Newgrounds... his music is used in Hollywood trailers and even some films by major companies.
MrFijiWiji is on MonstercatMedia (not sure if you'd call it famous, but it's an achievement). Although I'm not sure whether he started here or not, I still think it's worth a mention :)

According to Wikipedia(which means it could be bullshit), the pop-punk band Set Your Goals gained some popularity through posting on NG, although that was also due to Myspace and other social networking sites as well.

he has. Pulstate also started on here. He's working his way up through the record labels and radio stations.

Selcuk Bor (MaestroRage), JP Neufeld (Rig), Matt Cavender (XKore), Milkman Dan, Nick Perrin and Andrew Aversa (ZirconMusic) are likely the most notable. xKore tours the world now and most people who know anything about dubstep are familiar with him. Zircon is probably the second most well known (has done a lot of film/tv stuff and runs his own sound design business).
But there's no-one truly pop/hip-hop/dance mainstream famous outside of xKore right now (AFAIK).

You're about as famous as a whale in spa- oh.
Space Laces (cornandbeans) started here with some dope trance and dance tunes, but now he releases mostly dubstep and complextro. He has collaborated with the big dubstep artists Excision and Downlink to create Raise Your Fist, which was #1 in the Beatport dubstep chart for a long time.

Redmoon Deejay has a couple releases on Monstercat as well. Well one, and one upcoming.
In drum & bass we have Emperor most notably, but also Landscapers and to an extent Nova.

I'm sure they started somewhere. IIRC Deadmau5 started out working for a radio station or something like that.
Also, Centra (His NG name is escaping me) is starting to get bigger in the DnB scene.

i can confirm that, prior to like 2004 or something, deadmau5 was just another random jackoff on the music community sectionz. the site is now sadly defunct, but eventually became sectionz records which releases stuff by savant, soulero and others. before sectionz was a thing (like 2000), deadmau5 went by halcyon441 on image-line forums and other stuff, if you find an old version of fruityloops like 3.3 or later you can listen to all the old demo songs that he made under that old name. just saying but i chatted with deadmau5 in IRC a couple of times omfg starstruck!!!!
dunno about calvin harris but lol
Deadmau5 started out as a web developer and created music as a hobby. It was during his time when bandwith became good enough for sites to support music and playlists and because of that a lot of sites were looking for music producers to make their sites 'cooler', and deadmau5 threw himself at that. Eventually he gained recognition by that and, as midimachine says, got signed to Sectionz Records, released 'Get Scraped' and then the rollercoaster began. He was, just like 99% of all the famous producers, at the right place at the right time.
Also yes, deadmau5 was his username on an IRC chat because he found a dead mouse in his computer. He wanted to call himself 'deadmouse' or 'deadmause' but he couldn't use more than 8 characters for his name so it became 'deadmau5'.
In case nobody had noticed, I'm obsessed with deadmau5.

You wouldn't happen to also know his birth date, home address, and SSN right? :p

So what did you find in your computer when you created your username?
