You need to be scouted for your art to appear in the main art portal. There is an unscouted section where most art can be found, and where scouted users can scout other users. The only requirement for being scouted is that you have four artworks submitted, but the standards for the art portal are relatively high so not everyone is accepted. Just keep doing your best though and maybe you'll get in eventually! More info here.
