I am going to school (college) now to become a Park Ranger. I will then be qualified to be a cop/sheriff/etc.

A friends mom works with the police filing evidence, and out next-next door neighbors youngest son is an officer. That's as close to experience as I'll get. :/ For the record, no I would not like to work with the police, because I wouldn't want to enforce laws that I don't believe in.

My mother used to, then she was stuck with me for Eighteen years and counting.
One time I found my mom's handcuffs and wore them. She freaked out. I lost the key and had to call a cop to remove the cuffs. Crazy time, I tell ya.

If you are asking if I have an interest in joining the now-abandoned NGPD, all I can say is HELL YES! I don't have the time nor the will to pull it from the grave, but I do want to join it before I rank too high. It's for this reason that I've temporarily halted judging new flashes until I have the sufficient number of forum posts (50 decent posts minimum) to apply. It's one of those things where I want to say that I was part of it while I still can. I have such an interest in the NGPD that I've even started writing a fiction about it which anyone interested can find here. Who knows, maybe the ripples I cause now will oneday become a wave of interest back toward the NGPD!

I have had an interest in law enforcement. For a long time I wanted to be a helicopter pilot as well, so my family suggested pursuing a career as one for a police department. But, as I got older I realized that my passion for journalism and broadcasting was stronger than a curiosity in aviation. When I told this to my college advisor, she actually suggested that I look into possibly working for the FBI. If an internship opportunity comes up, I will definitely consider!

Would I like to be a cop? Yes. Do I like the judicial system. No, it's expensive, taxing, and impotent. It is frail, weak and useless. It's penny driven. It is expensive. The judicial system is so overridden and latent that it hardly ever processes fairly and efficiently. Most of all, it sadly caters to people with money. You do not get proper legal defense or a fair trial unless you can afford to. Sad, fact.
