Is it ever ok for a man to cry? 2013-02-04 19:49:07

I'm just wondering what you guys think.
Personally I think it is ok for men to cry about certain things.
Like death of a loved one and stuff.
American society is all like, "It is unmanly to cry."
In my opinion that's what is wrong with today's society.

Men aren't pre programmed not to want to cry. So whenever you want unless you care what people think.

Do what you have to. We aren't robots. I personally don't care if you're a grown man crying, emotions are emotions.

Its kind of funny. I value animal life over humans. If my dad died, I wouldn't shed a single tear. If a dog I had for years on end loved it like a brother x10 I would be fucking bawling.

I'm one of those guys that don't like to show emotion.
Actually I wish I didn't have emotion.
I mean I would probably be further in life if I simply lacked the ability to be sad.
But as you can see, that hasn't happened and I just always feel depressed.

Only on close relatives deaths.

Pretend not to care about anything, but be bothered by everything.

It is absolutely good for people to cry, regardless of gender. Refusing to let your emotions out will only force them to bottle more inside and have you unleash them in worse ways.

What's the difference?

A guy likes a penis up his butt
A man likes to shove his penis up a girl's butt.

And that's why all man-children are gay.

I don't have any issues with myself crying, hell, if I'm really so upset to have the urge to do it, it would be nothing but unhealthy to hold it in. With that said, I've found that it takes more and more to get me to cry, the older I get. (Like pain used to make me cry when I was little, yet it doesn't have that effect on me anymore.)

Honestly, it's been around 6 years since the last time I cried. It was when my long-time girlfriend (who I still loved dearly, at the time) dumped my ass and moved out of state to go to college. I was fucked up for quite a while after that.

Of course it's okay for men to cry, but there are times were crying would make the people around you uncomfortable so like anything else, it's good to be courteous about when and where you do it.

It made more sense in my head.

Occasionally at my job I have to package dead dogs and cats to be sent off for cremation, sometimes after I've taken care of them for multiple shifts.

While I don't end up a sobbing mess I have a hard time imagining I'll ever be able to do it without feeling sad about it, with the animals I liked more I'll usually cry a bit too. Frankly, I'd have a harder time dealing with it if I repressed it.
