Tom mentioned in his latest news post that the game and movie publishing broke yesterday, but he says it's now fixed- maybe the art portal's broken too, but there seems to be work up that was posted in the last day.
Have you tried switching browsers? I find that the site is usually pretty smooth on firefox.

Uploader is working again but the Art Portal is still VERY wonky. Sometimes my work disappears from my page, but it reappears in my "ART" tab. Sometimes vice versa. Also, sometimes I get an error saying that it's an invalid file, but othertimes it loads fine. Wtf?
