It is annoying because I vote on almost everything that goes through The Portal and I vote fairly but due to mass just 5 voters quite a bit of crap get's through. What ya gonna do though?

My Saves are higher than my bans because the quality of content on average has become higher over the years. There is still a lot of spam from those trash crews but the content of individuals has became considerably better than it was five years ago.

tl;dr: There are more saves because shit is better than it used to be

It's the latter. I use the whole spectrum of ratings, but it's a little dissapointing how easily stuff gets through, sometimes based upon name (Mario vs. Sonic, etc.). Hell, my Madness Trailer from 2010 NEVER should've passed through, honestly...

This is complete nonsense. People need to just think before they vote. It doesn't have to be 0 or 5. And there will always be a lot of shitty flash in the portal (like mine) but you always just wait out for the gems in the rough which is why you can follow your favourite authors.

I won't blam a bad flash If its some noobie's first poorly done animation, but if its spam just for the sake of spam then it's blam time.

I never blam anything unless It's absolutely necessary. I'm talking about 3 second tests, or something. Whenever I blam something, I always PM whoever made It and tell them what I think about it. Otherwise, I give a 5/5, even If it's not in MY taste. If they worked hard on it, it deserves a good score.

i agree. anything animation shorter than 5 seconds should be blammed automatically regardless of how well it was animated. it used to be the case in the past. the flash portal is not a place for submitting 'test animations'.

People want points and they will follow what trend is going instead of voting the way they feel. Since a horrible wave of saves is in everyone will vote to protect and some people even admit this. Others use the logic I don't want this to pass but I am giving you two so I will get the point anyway.

Most bullshit logic ever. If you want something not to pass give it a 0 or 1 not a 2!

Also it doesn't help we can blow the whistle on abusive flash. In the old days you could get points if you voted to blam, the submission got flagged and then deleted later. However now they unpublish the abuse stuff and you don't earn blam points from them but at the same time can get save points from them if they pass judgement and then get unpublished.

Voting zero on everything, while being a good solution for the short-term, will only become problematic in the future if everyone jumps on this bandwagon. The last thing we need is the exact opposite problem with only two or three submissions ever passing judgement, that would drive artists away from the website.

What we need are for people to actually be interested in watching submissions rather than just clicking a button to get their vote in. I'm not sure how to do it, but there needs to be more of an incentive for voting fairly than just mashing five and passing every crappy stick movie that hovers through the portal.

We need to start blamming things like we did in '06 and '07

Fair voting is essential in the Portal. Must I remind you guys that a few years ago, people complained that there were too many blams? Just do your part by voting how you believe certain movies and games should be judged, and stop worrying about what everyone else does. The blam points will come, but you shouldn't be motivated solely by points.

It's either people are getting lazy, or they are just saving everything now a days. I wish people would blam more again.

What needs to happen is that they need to just replace the 1 - 5 system with a "pass or fail," and ONLY allow you to use it after watching the video (if it's a movie, the author can put in a timer) or a Game (universal amount of time.)

Been calling for it for ages. I see no reason personally why it shouldn't be raised now.
