I actually really liked the old forums.

I haven't been banned in a while. It's been too long.

The forums used to actually have decent topics back when I was a regular poster (03'-07').

The average age of the NG user I think has dropped dramatically as well. Most posters back then seemed to be in their late teens or early to mid twenties. Today you can obviously tell all the thirteen year old's are frequenting the forums saying the absolutely dumbest shit. Look at my first posts, I was 14 then. I was a fucking idiot.

I've never posted on the forums back in 2010 I started using the forums in 2012.

From what I remember there were a lot more users on the forums on a regular basis. Now a days there are only about 100 or so people online at any given moment. Before 2010, there were usually about 250-300 people online at any time. Also, I'm pretty sure that back then the whole 'being a prick for the sake of ironic humor' shit was less prevalent as well.

The "shit storm" never really happened. I'm sorry if I have to explain to you why the forum sucks.

Users join and they're usually initally shitty.

Then eventually they mature, or they leave. You guys either:
A.) Shower them in so much attention they don't have reason to mature
B) You scare them off before they mature

Nowadays most new users aren't being treated properly on NG.

Honestly, it's pretty much always been shitty.

I'm starting to miss the spam groups. They were a sign that communities would form on the site even if they were based solely around exploiting and abusing the site in annoying and immature ways

I miss the way Newgrounds used to be, I really do. The community just isn't active like it used to be. Hell, I don't come around nearly as much as I used to even. Sad.

that said, the early bbs wasn't that much better

The prey was easier to hunt. The furnace of years have forged the regulars, and the newbies are not as naive.

The past is always better.

I have only faint memories of it but I can assure it was waaaay better. Lots more traffic and nice users.
Nowadays everyone migrated to social networks, and most of those that remained here constantly fight each other (read: compare dick size) and scare away new users to get the attention they could never have even dreamed of back in the day.
But I hope those days return.
