A much bigger, built-from-scratch console version is now available on PSN and is coming to Steam on September 7th! The PSN version is what has been nominated for a Golden Joystiq.

To bring everything in those post full-circle, Tyler Glaiel (Closure developer) won the previous Ludum Dare.

I'll be sure to check out both the flash and retail versions of Closure!

You don't need to provide a server - that is taken care of for you through Player.IO

You would just need to find a team to work with and set clear percentages on how you would split the earnings.

It's a real easy to use multiplayer API. I think it'd be worth figuring out because the prize money would be insignificant compared to the revenue the game itself might generate if it was good enough to win. Especially with the top prizes giving you front page time on several big sites.

Kongregate and NG working together on an awesome thing? That is extra awesome. I always hoped to see our powers combined...

In all seriousness, I think this'll be worth checking out. At lest it'll give me an excuse to get off my arse and finish the flash-to-PHP API i've been working on. Damn encryption is the only thing keeping me from finishing it :/

Also, I've submitted my game and tagged it "ludumdare24" but it's still not in the collection yet. I'm guessing you're adding them manually? Just thought I'd throw a heads up in case it was missed.

It brings me a dark, cold kind of joy to see the majority of Newgrounds' professional-level Flash developers avoid this thread like the plague, while those who probably fall well short of satisfying the competition's requirements are flocking to it.

I definitely plan on entering the Player.io contest. I want to develop flash games anyway so I might as well. I'll need a programmer though. I didn't realize this was the website that the people at player.io were referring to when they were talking about testing the entries. They made it sound like it was a private website.

Anyone needs a musician on board pm me, I'll likely go for 5-10-15% of whatever revenue depending on how much music I have to make.
