I thought it was shit. Tried too hard to be funny, changed too much stuff from the original comic storyline and re-vamped Peter Parker's personality so he can fit along with the other douches in the Avengers.
Avengers clones all sucked cunt
I respond to every message!
Tobey Maguire is one of my Favorite actors of all time. Why he wasn't in this I will never know. Most likely because it's trying to get with the Teen and MTV Crowd. Tobey Maguire and James Franco are not what teens look up too. Edward wannabes and such. Fuck this movie and Fuck you for seeing it. TObey isn't in movie that much anymore so If you support it then you're supporting his failure. Go see a good Super hero movie this year like The Dark Knight Rises. That's gonna be Bad ass. FYI, IGN is bias as shit.
yanno what guys....i saw the movie last night and thought it was awesome. being 25 and basically going to see it for my sons purposes- i went in neutral - but came out really really pleased with the direction of the movie and even the cg. i thought lizard man was cool as hell...i thought "gwen" was adorable and i loved andrew garfield as peter parker. toby mcguire never really did it for me .so....go see it if youre on the fence...it really is pretty good..its a long movie - a little over 2 hours - but honestly it went by really quick. will i be buying the dvd? yep . do i think its better than the first spiderman / 2 & 3/ - yep. :o)

tobey mguire is horrible. hes bland and washed out. has-been spiderman move over for the new and improved (and cuter) one please. thanks
I liked the movie a bit more than the original, although that's probably because having seen the original so many times it just doesn't seem as good any more. Plus I like the darker direction this film goes in. My main complaint with this movie is how The Lizard looks and sounds. I hate it.

I thought it followed the comics pretty well to be honest with you. Instead of that bullshit of Peter shooting webs from his arms , they went with the webshooters like in the comic and had him date Gwen Stacy before Mary Jane. Plus, you got to see subtle things that followed the comic like how Flash went from being a bully to an admirer of Spider-Man.
they changed the characters because Hollywood actors are greedy.

Didn't care for the trailer at all. Some of the parts, specifically the part where the guy goes to attack him with the knife, are just cringeworthily attempts at Spiderman's sarcastic humour. I don't think the new actor suits the role as well as the previous one.
Okay, who's ready for some Showbusiness Realities Learning Fun Time? If any of you are suspicious as to why they're rebooting a franchise only five years after the last installment, here's why:
Even though Spider-Man himself is owned by Marvel, the film rights to the character belong to Sony. However, part of the deal was that Sony has to actually exercise those rights at least once every certain number of years in order to keep them from reverting to Marvel (that's how most film options work with franchises like this). That deadline was coming up soon, and none of the personnel from the Raimi movies were willing or able to get it together.
So basically, this movie is a cheap, quickie cash-in made for very specific pragmatic business reasons. Not exactly the stuff great entertainment is made of, so yeah, I'll probably be avoiding this one.

It was mind blowingly good. I loved every minute of it I can't wait for the sequel. Also, Emma Stone is the perfect Gwenn Stacy she's so cute and loveable.
My dad loves comics, his favourite is Spiderman so I'll watch it with him when it comes out on DVD.
Talk about not staying true to the original source the only thing this movie got right was Spidermans personality and Gwen Stacey as his original girlfriend. That being said I like the dark storyline but how the hell are you gonna make a spiderman movie and not have the uncle say "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility" C'mon Hollywood that's like a key moment in parkers character development. The action was okay but like the avengers it didn't meet my expectations I can forgive it a little though since Spider-man wasn't that skilled in his early days. Spiderman 2 is still the best Spider-man movie ever,

Never said it was. Funny how people tend to miss that when critiquing another critique.

Probably due to the fact that in the original comics Uncle Ben never said that line at all despite people attributing it to him.

Well MARVEL must've came up in one of the spider-man universes, it's not popular just cause.
I went to see it yesterday and it is actually better than I expected. Some reviews I read were very negative about it. One even went as far as giving 5 stars for the special effects but 0 for the rest. But I don't think it's all that bad. I think I like it better than the films of the original series in fact.
Couple of negative points though: I do think the film is very, very slow in the first hour and there are some very cheesy moments. The crane scene is so bad that it's just hilarious.
Here's what I think of the Spider-Man movies from how good they are.
4. Spider-Man 3
3. The Amazing Spider-Man
1. Spider-Man 2
I think most people agree with me.

I think Amazing Spider-man would be higher on this list.
I'm actually seeing it later today, hope it's good. And no, i don't decide on what movie i'm going to see based on IGN Scores. I decide if the movie was actually good for myself after i actually see it.
Watched it earlier, was sort of a mixed bag but I enjoyed it.
I do, however, have some complaints:
1- The Lizard looks absolutely horrible. Really weak CGI.
2- Some things/people, like the Evil Indian Guy, didn't get the closure they needed.
3- The crane scene. OH GOD, the crane scene. I had to try hard not to burst out laughing when I saw it. It's just so bad, stupid and absolutely far-fetched (even for a SUPERHERO MOVIE) that it's hilarious.
But I liked everything else, and it's better than the other 3 IMO.
I'm really tired of fanboys getting pissed when I say I like Raimi's first two Spidermans more.
Jesus, at least those movies felt like movies, and not a product. They didn't leave a ton of unanswered questions in there to make you want to see the sequel.
Actually me friends and I were going to see a movie at the movie theater, we chose the movie "Ted" over the amazing spiderman because I heard that the butchered it. Also ted was a good movie.
Checkmate bitch, get used to hearing it.....
It was pretty good actually, better than I expected.
For the trailers I thought it was gonna be a little more "dark" but the tone of the movie is similar to the very first movie. Andrew Garfield was a very good Peter Parker and Emma Stone was the perfect Gwen Stacy; the rest of the cast was acceptable. The effects were pretty good, nothing really groundbreaking, except for the first person sequences. My only complains are the Spidey suit and Lizard, they were HORRIBLE.
