Yes. It was a comic book movie. We knew this coming in. We also know when we go to a romantic comedy there's going to be some romance and some comedy. When we see a Clint Eastwood movie we know someone with regrets is going to die badly. When we see Oscar bait bioflicks we know we're going to see someone overcome adversity. We all get it.
There just wasn't anything in this movie that I haven't seen before. The whole thing about Loki letting himself get captured, so that he could attack his enemies from within.....Dark Knight, anyone?
Not that I'm a Dark Knight fanboy. I have my problems with that as well.
Call me old fashioned, by my favorite comic book movie is still Tim Burton's Batman. I know it's fashionable to rip on this movie nowadays, but it's still one of my favorite movies.

a movie can be a part of a genre and still have some originality
just because other movie genres contain a lot of movies with a repeated formula doesn't mean it's not a flaw
The Avengers had a very large box office weekend. It was in the number one spot.
It made over 200 million on its opening weekend... Oh my, I guess that makes the avengers kind of a success huh?

Yes, the Avengers is setting new records at the box office. It destroyed Harry Potter's.
I didnt enjoy it very well, part of it being unable to get lost in films after being so interested in film production. And another part is not being able to stand Scarlett Johanssons fucked up fish face.
The hidden Easter egg after the credits, was a great way to end an awesome film.

Anyone wanna know what it was? Thantos.

It's Thanos and why would you answer your own question for? Stop spoiling stuff for others please.

The only thing that makes seeing The Avengers better, is seeing it in 3D.

But did you stay after the whole credits?
On the morrow I'm gonna watch it for my birthday with some friends. It's supposed ta be really good, so I'm getting my hopes up on a movie just this once.

I've seen it twice now. I'll probably go a third time at some point this week, it definitely seems to get better with each viewing.

Have you see it in 3d yet? It makes a good film even better.

Yeah me too. I still need to read fear itself and whatever is left of the Avengers, New Avengers and Secret Avengers.

Yeah, I saw it in 3D the first time I went to see it. This film did 3D pretty well, though I still found it a tad distracting. I'm an old-fashioned kind of guy I guess, 3D isn't really my cup of tea.
I liked it. If TDK is the perfect "dark" superhero movie, this would be the perfect "light" superhero movie. A lot funnier than I thought it would be. I'll probably rewatch it, although I'm definitely not paying for that mediocre 3D again.

If this post was made after September 12th it makes me more of a liar.
I will see the Avengers this weekend, my third time seeing it.

You think Gambit can kill Wolverine? Many people have tried and failed at killing Wolverine.
It would depend on the rules of the fight. Are they sparring or going all out?
Too bad Will Smith wasn't in the movie. He'd end it all as soon as Loki came through the portal.
Loki: My name is Loki, bow before me!
*WIll Smith punches Loki*
Will Smith: Welcome to erf!

There is a difference between beating him and killing him. If you're not a space god like Galactus at the very least, you won't be able to truly kill him.

I don't like Scarlett Johansson that much, but she looks gorgeous in this movie, she owns the character of Black Widow (in Iron Man 2 she was just the hot girl who could kick ass).
