I wonder when "I survived Hurricane Irene and all I got was this crappy t-shirt and a roofless home" t-shirts come out.

About as soon as "I'm on a boat cuz my house is underwater" shirts come out.
Or maybe even the collectors "Oh shit, BLACK OUT" Shirts!

Whoever makes BBS sigs with 'I Survived Irene 2011', I want in.

It's only a Hurricane 1 by now, how is it going to spawn more tornadoes?

Always a possibility especially on the north, northwest side of it.
High tide for New York is 8am EDT and it will be interesting to see how much of lower Manhattan will flood.

It's almost 3AM on the east coast. Irene is here, and so far, I am not impressed.
I'm feeling the effects of Irene in New York right now. I've endured heavy rain, power outages, and my crying dog for the past hour. This is coming a week after a earthquake. Granted, that was a tiny earthquake but still wtf is going on?! haha
Well, we had a bit of a rain shower and some wind earlier tonight, but no power surges or anything. 3:00am and it's like any other night here. Not impressed, Irene. Not impressed.
Oh shit, I live in Virginia but I'm in India at the moment. I just might have to look at the aftermath of Irene once I come back in September. Hope nothing catastrophic happens to our home.
Not as much danger as I thought it would be, at least that's good.

That seems to be the case in NYC. There are some flooded roads and apartments, but it wasn't the apocalypse everyone thought it would be. I think Virgina, Delaware, and North Carolina got the worst of it.

Theres flooded roads and a land slides that caused a tsunami warning in MA.
You mean a tropical storm warning. Only earthquakes can trigger tsunamis.

No look it up,large enough land slides can.cause them too!
Im on Long Island...woke up to a little wind and water outside..couple downed branches.
Pretty much turned out like I thought it would..very anti-climactic.
My internet is slow, and I've had a couple of power surges. This isn't looking good.

And MA doesn't have steep enough terrain near the coast to cause a tsunami.
Yeah i live like right near the edge of NJ and nothing bad happened at all. No flooding, no tornadoes, or power outages.

As I said, over hyped.
Gust is a good wind move though, the problem is that Ash has a tendency to misuse Pigeotto in the early series.

My basement got flooded with two inches of water, but that's about it.

Snore. By far the most disgustingly overhyped and sleep-inducing hurricane I've ever lived through in my 21 years of living.

Whipped this one up last night, sums it up.

Well, my power went out last night from about midnight to sometime this morning, I went to sleep around 4:00 AM and it was still out at that time. The winds caused a few tree branches to come down near my house and there are leaves all over the place, but I wasn't really expecting the winds to be too bad in my area anyway. My main concern was tornadoes, but I don't think there were any tornadoes in my area, there was a tornado spotted in my state though.
They say irene is this bad hurricane its not really causing major damage like katrina and there in the same category
I saw on the radar that upstream on the Hudson was getting pounded with rain from Irene, makes me wondering if the flooding problems would come up again downstream back to the outskirts of NYC again cause the Missouri river downstream from Omaha has been having flood problems since late June because of all the flooding up in Montana and the Dakotas made it's way down stream.
