I hate facebook and I really hate "like" buttons on Newgrounds. Somebody needs to start a petition to have them removed.

Maybe, but there's nothing telling you that it's a Facebook link, which could be annoying to some noobies that thought it was something similar to the YouTube Thumbs Up-system.

It's just so awkward right there. Put it under the "Share this!" button where it belongs. It just so clearly doesn't belong in that spot.

I have been waiting for the like button to be implemented here on NG for quite a while. What all these whiny idiots have to understand is money makes the rules. The Facebook like button = more traffic = more money(for authors and for newgrounds itself). This kind of reminds me of the jersey shore hating crowd, sure that show is a piece of trash but just imagine how much money MTV made off of it. If I was the guy who thought of the idea for jersey shore or facebook do you think I'd stop out of fear of pissing off a bunch of hipster nobodies? HELL NO!

It's a shame you can't edit the color scheme of the facebook "Like" button to match Newgrounds' colors. Seems a bit jarring against the charcoal grey of the site.

I doubt facebook would allow that color alteration though.

I'll share my thoughts as well...

I don't mind either way whether there are like buttons, since it's a good way to expose the flash to other people who rarely visit--or never visit--Newgrounds. In this way, more people might visit Newgrands, visit the forums, and have a new member!

Of course, the opposite holds true. This system can also be abused by spam accounts on the bad flashes to attract the wrong attention, giving Newgrounds a worse look. Plus, it's kinda' like a nerd detector... It will show my friends, "Hey! I play games by myself!"

I'll give it a week to see what I think afterwards.
