IT'S OFFICIAL!

The Newgrounds Audio Portal's Dubstep Contest 2011 has started.

We are looking for some of the most outrageous Dubstep that you and/or your collab partners can concoct! Cross-genres are more than welcome they are encouraged! I know "Dumbstep" and "Fartstep" were suggested in the past. Now feel free to explore such wacky ideas!

Here are the rules..

Each competitor can submit only ONE song for this contest.

Songs must be newly composed and created for this competition.

No copyrighted samples. This is rather obvious and self-explanatory.

No covers. All melodies contained in your submission must be composed ENTIRELY by yourself.

Please submit your entry using your regular account, not an ALT.

Collabs are allowed for this contest. However, keep in mind that any prizes awarded will go solely to the account under which the collab was submitted under, as collaborative linking has not been implemented into the audio portal at this time.

Voices can be used, provided that:
1) It is not sampled from copyrighted recordings.
2) It is 100% your own recording and creation.
3) You can ask another artist or group to provide vocals, as long as all material is newly created for your submission, and you provide the details of the vocalist(s), who they are.

All tracks must be in by the deadline. If you have a problem with reaching the deadlines, please contact us as soon as possible, and we will review your case.

Submissions must not contain any material deemed offensive.

Last but not least, remember to have fun!

Here are the set dates for this contest

From now till 11:59 (23:99) PM EST Tuesday April 26: Submissions will be accepted.

Wednesday, April 27th to Friday, April 29th: joshhunsaker and stupor have graciously accepted judging duties in addition to myself and we will be closely scrutinizing the submissions.

Sunday May 1st: The top 4 (winners) will be announced.

I'm super duper stanky at dubstep, but if anyone needs vocals done I'll be happy to help :)

Assuming this contest is actually going down... I'd be more than happy to lend myself to judging and even doing a results show as this is right up my alley... and something that could actually be well mixed in a set.

Yes. It's one of two NG audio portal contests this month.

The other contest this month is the Uplifting / Heavenly NAC.

I forgot to actually make my submission haha. I hope im not submitting it too soon.

I accidentally labeled it wrong. It's a dum step. Also, I'm quitting music guys. It's been fun but I just can't deal with the pressure anymore. Making hits every other day is hard enough as it is but there's also too many haters out there trying to put down the movement. I'm too lazy to fight them so I'll just stop. May the spirit of a generation sleep with me in eternity.

You talk like making electronic music is a fad that we're all fighting to keep alive. IMO you haven't even started making music yet, your talent is there but compared to where it can go, you only took the first step and decided to quit before you even got up the stairs.
