So did anyone participate in the streetpass weekend thing? I wasn't quite sure what it was, and I didn't get any special street pass tags or whatever, so yeah. Did anyone else have success?

i participated in it and got quite a number of people. i got this special mii from Miiverse, Nintendo Tom, and folks from different states and even Norway!

yes, a random distribution, but you did not have to do anything special beside simply going to a 3DS hotspot. essentially you were using the SpotPass relay to get the StreetPass relay, which in this event slingshots your 3DS info across a ways for someone else to receive and vice versa.

I'm with you there. The only 3DS game I have beaten currently is Link Between Worlds, which is weird since I usually suck at Zelda games. everyone ignore this, that FC is now invalid. Apparently doing the system transfer transfers friends/friend codes over too. Im once again full, with the same FC I had before. Given how people often name their systems after themselves, do you really want to sit and scroll through the hundreds if not thousands of people with the exact name as the person you're trying to add just to possibly find them? It is pretty inconvenient, but it's not too bad given they don't restrict taken usernames. It also affords a fairly decent level of security, as strangers can't just look you up and add you or anything like that (unless you've posted your friend code online, though even then you'd need to add them as well...)
