The group should be started by someone old enough on both sites. I think Rig would be the best choice.
Then all newgrounders join. This would probably increase exposure of Newgrounds as well.
thats what we should do now to show people newgrounds potential.
so when we should do this i have an account there seems kinda boring to me.

I didn't read your post thoroughly, I didn't realize you meant to report "her" website to the FBI, but rather I thought you meant to report the person themself to the FBI.
This thread is now being monitored because we've said FBI too many times.
I think it might be a good idea to use this thread as a reference/station for future audio theft reports. Even though it doesn't seem to happen all that often to begin with. Or at least it isn't taken notice of.

This is a great idea. Many of us have accounts there already, and it would be a great way to discourage any stealing across music upload sites.
Cetacea's going down, but I hope he/she doesn't pop up again with a different name and just steal different music next time... I can't believe how long she got away with claiming to make everything.
AND TO YOU ARTISTS WHO HAD YOUR MUSIC STOLEN - I'm not going to let this message from the GruntWorthy label get buried:

If the original artists of these tracks had sent them to us themselves, we would be signing material for release.
Hi guys,
I actually work at RootMusic - the company that this user had put those songs on. Please feel free to send an email to support@rootmusic.com or send me an email to matt [at] rootmusic.com and we can look right into it :) We work very closely with soundcloud and can help remove infringing users.
Much love to all the long tail artists out there - I love you all..keep making amazing music!

I can't think of any reason to lie about that, but your Newgrounds account doesn't reflect it. You signed up in '01 have made two posts, 26 flash reviews, and 0 music reviews. That's practically impossible for someone in the position you say you're in. No offense.

Generally, people who work at jobs don't have much time for Newgrounds, unless the job IS Newgrounds.

Good job guys, I'm pretty sure that those were the only ones that mattered, the other accounts she held little exposure. Though this is but one victory in a neverending war, I reckon we did a damn good job.

Absolutely - cherish any and every victory we have on the piracy front, no matter how big or small.
Need some music for a flash or game? Check it out. If none of this works send me a PM, I'm taking requests.
Her listing on DJ List is gone now too, thanks to our efforts.
All evidence there pointed to her even creating FAKE ACCOUNTS to comment on her own page. I pointed it out, as well as the fact she had stolen music, now "her" account is gone.
Her supposed music mag appearances are all falsified too of course. No evidence whatsoever that she's the person in her photo, or even a "her" at all.
WAY TO GO NG!!

Not a bad idea sir.
Also, thank you to every person that stood up for me, xKore, DJ-FiendO, Aydin (Jewelz123), 2DPolygon, and anyone else who was afflicted in this incident. I shall dedicate my next song to you heroes! =D
I started reading this thread last weekend and it literally made me cry, got me depressed about humanity and I had to stop reading.
The events that transpired thereafter, the pulling together of those not even directly affected and the possibility for greater recognition of NG artists from now on (with possible record deals) all warm my heart, though.
Well done everyone.
If it happens again, I hope this thread will remind us all how this thievery can be dealt with in an efficient, mature manner. And I'm sure that everyone will once again be there to watch everyone's backs and blow the whistle if the situation arises.

Hey guys. Glad you got this sorted out and the music theif got brought to justice :)
My music ain't worth stealing but good job to everyone sorting that crap out. You guys have real talent, obviously, and you might even get a record deal out of the whole thing.
1) Put scumbag in their proper place
2) Get record deal out of it
3) ???
4) Profit!

Implying the thief in question is infact a woman.
I'm just glad I didn't help mess things up, knowing that I would have just gotten in the way haha.
Been reading this like a book. I am sorry that you musicians have had your music stolen by some no good sleezy asshole. Congrats on bringing down the beast. Kudos fellas.
I would post music here but I do not have the software to make my music sound more realistic and less...MIDI.
Anyway, congrats guys.
So was this resolved? What was the outcome? I am concerned about uploading music and getting it stolen like so many here did.

Profile & music deleted from Soundcloud, Facebook DJ something something...
Record label officials coming here and apologize and most important getting interested in original authors music.

Well, you can take it as a compliment. It gets stolen only if it's good.

Sorohanro, You should make a new thread about the soundcloud thing to get the word out. :D
the whole thing either needs some song quality moderating or a song limit tho :X

Just so you all know, she is speaking through someone called @DJPlur on Twitter saying that it was HER music that was stolen and her attorney is suing Newgrounds and the musicians here that stole her music! WTH? I saw that and read this thread, I guess I am confused.
Got it! I will be watching her on Twitter in case she pops up and starts posting music under another Twitter account. She (or he) must have thought that the musicians are so dumb. Turns out is is her/him that is the dumb one!

I made an account to ask him to give us links to the stolen tracks. Let's see if s/he is dumb enough to follow through - it could be another avenue of advertising for all of you, lol.

Considering I have almost all of the original stems of "Beast Mode" delivered to me from xCore, she is totally lying.

If (s)he tries anything, I can put you in contact with an attorney specifically dealing in music copyright.
I suspect that this is just her bluffing. But I am 100% willing to help organize the defense case for the NewGrounds Audio Portal and, if necessary, act as a lawyer (I wouldn't be able to do it for free, though, as I'd likely have to take time out of school, arrange transportation, buy a suit, etc). And if (s)he sues, it'll most likely be in the 3d Cir., E. D. Pa. (in Pennsylvania, where NG is based) and if not, a motion could be filed to get it moved here. Besides, with cooperation and evidence, it would be quite easy to countersue.
But, as I said, it's most likely a bluff. If (s)he had any common sense, (s)he would realize (s)he doesn't have a case.
