If you had a friend who died? 2011-02-27 19:05:12

One of my best Pals died a few months ago, should i delet him from facebook? It's really sad and I miss him but am not sure what to do, he is never going to use facebook again and we are never going to speak again so i probably should delete him but it feels a bit harsh doing it, like i am rejecting his memory. I am not sure what to do. What would you do if you were me? Keep or delete?

what matters is if you remember him your own way. so either choice is right.

Thanks I think your right, i will delelte him but keep him in my heart. Just hope his mother and brother dont think i am harsh for doing it. thanks

Let's pretend I use Facebook. If my friend died I doubt I could delete him. I would have the cursor on the delete button and probably start crying while I clicked. I'm sensitive.

Either way will be a thoughtful choice in his memory.

The question is: Why delete him? You can have limitless friends, so why does it matter?
Also, I'm very sorry for your loss.

I'd kep him on your facebook, just as a lil reminded of him all the time.

Not only do I not know what's going on, I wouldn't know what to do about it if I did.

I am sorry to hear about your friend. But, perhaps deleting him is also right. It's part of the "moving on" process. You're not rejecting him, the memories you have with the guy is more important than pictures and updates.

By deleting him, do you mean deleting his account? If so, I suggest that you not have access to his account in the first place. This is, however, more likely if you want to keep him as a friend. I say you should probably do it as it would be a great way to honor his memory. I do not go to my Facebook profile that often, but I think this would be a nice gesture. I am sorry you lost someone so close to you.

Fuck man, just keep him in your friendlist, I wouldn't be able to hold my tears as I trying to click the remove button

I think it would be better to keep him as a reminder.

One of my good friends got killed, and I still have her as a friend.

Who cares, unless you're trying to get your friend count down I don't see what the big deal is. But I wouldn't, because you know, if you delete him from your friend's list, he can't accept you back.

Hack his Facebook and update his status saying he is dead. That way no one will think he is alive!

Go ahead - I deleted my friend who passed away a number of months ago.
I still have my one friend who passed away two months or so ago, though.
Facebook shouldn't matter, it means nothing.

Though I've never took hold of acknowledgement for one person's friendship and faithfulness which would have been sometimes hard for me to tell if it was real or not I think that the most reasonable thing to do first before deleting him off your list would be to tell some nice things about that dude even though it's not directly at a funeral.
I think that it might a dick move to forget about them after death or after not seeing them for some time and well it's nice to keep contact if it's possible in anyway.

I never delete any deceased people from Facebook or my phone book. My father died a week ago and he's still in both of them. The choice is yours, but I'd say you keep him and take a look at his profile whenever you want to relive all the good times you had with him.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
