Which artprogram do you prefere? 2010-12-22 14:23:45

As the title says, which software do you prefere creating art in?
Myself is using Flash 8, but I'm looking for something else, like illustraitor, but I've heard from someone from the forums that there's better softwares, but he STILL havent answered my PM's on which it is

Soooo, which program do you use? Is there any downsides with them? Why do you use it?
And are you satisfied with the results?

Take it to the Lounge

You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake. You are the same decaying organic matter as everyone else.

Photoshoop all the way. Painter is a heavyer program and photoshoop pros can imitate traditional effects pretty well anyways.

From my perspective anywho.

Nah, don't take it to the lounge. New world order, etc.

On the Newgrounds Wiki, there is a list of Creator Resources being made available - and you may be interested in checking out the Art Resources. This is a work-in-progress list, developed from a similar list by Art101.

Most people here use Flash and Photoshop - and if you want to try animations in the future you may want to try a 30 day trial of Flash. If you're looking for a free digital painting program, I'd prob go for Gimp, which is a decent alternative to Photoshop.

I think it's also worth to mention Re2deemers reviews of freeware programs.

i hope i'm not the only one who didn't understand what you were trying to say, care to explain?

for me it's pretty much good ol' flash 8. never really bothered to spend time on learning anything else :P
"learn how to use photoshop" is on the list of things im not going to do next year even though i tell myself to.

I was really against photoshop for the longest time. It seemed waay to complicated and unwieldy, but I found a whole bunch of awesome tutorials by this guy, and it helped me out a ton. Pencil and paper is the best, by far, though.

I grew rather fond of photoshop in highschool. Don't own a copy... so I just use MSPAINT (pre windows 7)

Soooo, which program do you use?

Mostly Photoshop CS2, occasionally Flash 8.

Is there any downsides with them?

The version of Photoshop that I use isn't really great at mimicking irl painting, in particular the way the paints blend and interact (or I haven't figured out how to do that yet) it CAN be a con if you let it, or you can learn to work with it.

As far as Flash 8 goes, it's great for vector work (and animation and other things) but Flash is pretty terrible at mimicking painting.

Why do you use it?

'Cause I have them. =3
Can't afford to buy a new program right now,

And are you satisfied with the results?

Pretty well satisfied, I've learned to work with the 'limitations' and use them to my advantage. I would LOVE to be able to use Painter and give it more of a whirl then I got from the limited trial but Photoshop works fine for me for now.
