Ty! i also done some allstars in the past, but i dont like to draw on them, the texture fucks up my markers.
I used to do customs all the time when i was in highschool. It was a big experment fucking up allota shoes in the progress. But i think i have found a good process for the leather shoes atleast.

First i scrub of the paint layer with aceton (any highly chemical substance would work).
Then i paint on them with Leatherpaint (angelus) and do the lines with permanent markers.
And finish them with a layer of matte finisher, to protect it from discoloring.
