ANDANDANDAND..... They lowered the extra money you get on a card from spend 10$ get 1.40 to spend 10$ get .70 cents...
AND AND AND there is this turnstile at the Jay Street./Metrtotech station that when you swipe your card it give the "denied" beep and on the screen it says please swipe again..so you swipe again .....and then again... and it still says please swipe again and wont let you through...... BUT IT STILL TAKES YOUR FUCKING MONEY!!!! And the lady in the booth is NO HELP AT ALL BECAUSE SHE HATES HER JOB AND RISES VERY WELL TO SUPREME LEVELS OF INCOMPETENCE.
I dont even know if they fixed it yet because i never will swipe my card there and whenever i see people swipe there they get the same message but i never stick around long enough to see what happens becuz i dont wanna miss my train.
i lost 6.75 to that friggin turnstile.

I know I'm probably late as hell for suggesting this but Coney Island was on the list last year so I think we should try it again this year.
I'll admit, during this season the rides are closed, the beach is cold, and basically everything is dead but the NY Aquarium is always open and the boardwalk is always free..
And I think everyone should try Nathan's Famous at least once.
But if the temperature is too low we can scratch that idea.

I'm going to be real honest here: it's going to be hard to fit that in, and if we can, it'll have to be on Sunday most likely. I'll look for everyone else's input first. I have one good friend who lives in Coney Island so I'm there every now and then.

Which place exactly? Crif Dogs?

Anyway, I can say with a reasonable amount of confidence that the hot dog place Tom had in mind was Crif Dogs. I used to go there a lot (especially after Webster Hall gigs) but haven't really been there since April of last year. It's pretty pricey but I guess this is a good occasion for me to return.

Especially since there are plenty of places here where you can get hot dogs for a buck.
Oh well, meet all of you guys, grab a beer or two . . . dozen. Plenty of fun in just a few days.

If you guys are actually expecting me to show up at the meet, THEN DON'T.
The flight I had my eye on disappeared off the list just two days ago, and all the other flights are at least $150 more.
Not only that, but I've been having issues with my passport, finding a hotel, and opposition from my boyfriend.
Also it takes 3 days to get there by bus, so I will be too late for the first meet.
Oh well, I hope to see you guys in Montreal and Toronto.

12 for Karoake if you are planning on going.
Maybe 20-30 bucks for food.
Who knows. You know your budget better than we do.
Last call. Am I bringing my hookah or not?

On a serious note, i updated the hub, with a few more stragglers and also with a meet point at Crif's if anyone is coming in later or wants to skip the actual meet point at Grand Central.
Too hard to predict how long we'll actually be at Crif's but we'll probably be in the East Village all night so yea, find someone with a phone if you are coming in later.
Also, it'll probably be raining on Friday so bring an umbrella ella ella.

Karaoke flat fee now: $14
Make sure you can pay $14 in cash prior to entering. I just called up the place and we now have it to ourselves for 4 hours or so instead of the initial 2, and we'll be there at around 4 (maybe earlier).
The address again is:
Karaoke DUET 48
304 East 48th Street
New York, NY 10017

i was going to ask why we are hanging out in the 40's like a bunch of tourists and then i forgot that most people coming dont live here haw haw haw .(wow that sounded smug). but seriously if you dont live in nyc i can see why that area can seem like a magical place of awe and wonder.
when i was a bike messenger i LOATHED whenever i had to deliver a package in that area.... the people move around like drugged up livestock.. but fuck it.. ill wear a cowbell.
im definitely looking forward to hanging out in the east village though, been a few months since i crawled around over there.

All right, I feel like I need to do a quick recap since there's a new page and all (plus the meet is looming), so here goes.
On Friday, we'll all meet in front of the defunct ticket counters at Grand Central at 4 PM. We'll give everyone until around 5 to show up. Then we'll head downtown to Crif Dogs via subway, then drink wherever.
On Saturday, we'll meet at the very same spot starting from around 10 AM this time until about 1. At that point, we may all go downstairs to eat, then when everyone's done, we'll walk over to the karaoke bar near the UN, where we can stay until 8 PM. Everyone must pay $14 in cash to me before entering (they have my credit card info so that's how I'm getting billed). $14 for several hours of karaoke in NYC is a pretty sweet deal so take advantage of it. Afterwards, a hookah bar or another regular bar is probably going to be on the table.
Sunday is wide open, and I mean very wide open in the widest sense. If anyone has ideas for Sunday, shoot them here or tell me in person when the time comes. I'll try to be in front of the ticket counters again but this time between 12 to 1 or so. Last year we didn't really do anything on Sunday, and this year it might be the same, but who knows?
If you don't have my cell phone number yet, PM me (it's important that you do), and also try to include your number if possible. Call or text me in the event of any uncertainty.

I've always wanted to go Liberty Island since playing the first Deus Ex game.
Also the WTC, but that is no longer possible.

There is really no sense in owning a car in Manhattan, since there are so many other forms of transportation. Ferries, subways, trains, and bus stops.
I'll be leaving here in the next 30 minutes to go catch my train. If things go to plan, I will meet you at 2pm today at Penn station Gory.
Barring something stupid like trees killing people and M. Night Shyamalan's shitty directing prevents me from going.

I highly doubt anyone wants to see a bunch of construction vehicles, traffic cones, chain link fences and mounds of dirty with partially built buildings.
