Large scale meets like this one are only once a year. I also occasionally have mini-meets and those are always fun too.

I'm about to head out of Queens to start Day 2 in Grand Central and I may be running a bit late. I know I said I'd be there at 10, but it's 9:36 now. It takes a little under an hour to get to Grand Central from where I live. Also, I plan on bringing my laptop with me so I can take advantage of wi-fi wherever it is.

Also, for anyone thinking of showing up at Grand Central tomorrow at around noon, don't bother: there will be no official Day 3. Sorry to disappoint anyone who was planning on showing up, but yeah, that's that.

Sorry to hear that. But I did have a kick-ass time meeting all of you guys in person. Ironically, Wade and I can't ever seem to meet up. It's too bad cause we actually have a shitload of interests in common. Also, Tom is much taller than I thought he would be. I'm about 6' 2" but Tom has at least an inch on me. (Hopefully I don't get banned for revealing personal info. about another User.)

I can honestly say that everyone was cool. From the dude with the big ass beard that the rest of us couldn't stop fondling, (his beard, not him) to the legendary awesomeness of Luis, (I appreciate what you did for me, and hope you weren't too buzzed to forget the next morning) to the one who organized it all (Thanks Gory). And the rest of you guys who took the time to show up and make it a sweet ass Meat!

A couple of guys couldn't make it. But it's okay. After all, we're NGers. We're a forgiving lot. >:)

Disagreed. Spring or fall is actually negotiable, but summer? No fucking way. I generally prefer winter far above all other seasons, but I'm still willing to move to the spring or fall depending on how many people prefer it over winter.

I'm pretty sure a larger number of people would have gone to meet if it were for sunshine and warmer weather. If these meets ever came near me I'd probably contemplate on whether or not to go.

Hope you guys are having a great time.

I take offense to that statement, despite you saying "no offense."

Okay, having said that, I said I'm open to moving over to the spring or fall in the future if overly frigid weather is that much of a turn off. I hope the majority would agree that either of those seasons are pretty reasonable. If you want to know why I'm not even considering the summer: 1) my body reacts very badly to heat and extreme sunlight, and 2) there are lots of other meets that go on in the summer (Montreal, London, maybe NJ again, etc.). It's important that when scheduling a meet of this scale that it doesn't come close to coinciding with other big meets, because then people will get worn out and things will get too crazy.

Day 2 was a blast. We went to the karaoke bar and got shit faced. Luis and cymbal cut me off, and the bar staff received a 30 dollar tip for being as fast as fucking possible in their boozeslinging. Hookah bar was delicious as well, and cymbal, gory and I ended the night with 25 minute march of death across staten island to his home.

I have to agree that a Summer Meet would be a horrible idea. For those who don't live in NYC, you'll all be amazed as to how severe the tempurature extremes can be. Satan comes to NYC during the Summer for vacation. It's easy to hit 90 degrees or above. During a lot of these Meets, we walk around outside for several blocks. That's not happening in the Summer. Many of us would melt. A Winter Meet is fine if scheduled in late Winter. (Which is what Gory did.) I was comfortable on Saturday. Didn't even bother wearing a hat or my gloves.

Here's another problem with scheduling Meets too close together, it feels less special in a way. It just does. If you space them out, we get to discuss each one with plenty of time to move on to the other ones.
