Congrats to the winners! Madness day was unbelievably awesome! I think you made good choices when picking the winners, and if I had to choose them the outcome wouldn't have been very different.

The only thing I kinda disagree with is the amount of money awarded to the music/lit/art winners, but I guess it makes sense that the movies/games winners get that much money since they are the ones who bring most of the traffic to the site.

Why shouldn't the other forms of art be given recognition and reward for their work? Most of those people have been making things longer than half of the people on this site and it is a whole different process of making between flash and music or the others. Honestly, would any of the flashes been as good if they all just used the same song, or a copywritten song just because they know people out their will vote high because they already know the song. Just because it takes a less amount of time to work on a song doesn't mean there is a lack for effort.

The amount of money given was up to the site owners, and was an incentive to bring in the best songs possible so that the flashes could get even better new songs. Besides that 100 is only 10% of what the winner of the flashes made. It seems completely fair to me.

Hulalaoo deserved more, and some of those games didn't deserve anything. OVERALL, GOOD MADNESS DAY.

Bjra's track is brilliant but I'd like to point out that both top two madness tracks were used in MindChamber's flash and he is a judge. A bit odd don't you think?

Who's to say thhat the songs we choose as winners couldn't be used in staff submissions.
Nothing odd about that, especially since staff submissions aren't eligible for a prize.

Good to see winners were finally selected. Competition was great! I'm looking forward for the next Madness Day contest as well as the Calendar Contest.

Perhaps for the next contest it would be good to have a list of criteria that our art will be judged on. I am curious to know why certain work was selected over others and based on what factors :P

By the looks the art submissions titled "Mad" by b0em and "Chainsaw Madness" by jouste display greater talent than "Madness" by homojesus and "Frozen Tricky" by FortressRubbish.

I think you've gotten hold of the wrong end of the stick here Kirbyfemur - I think what Ismael was referring to was that the amounts for the Audio, Art and Literature were quite low, compared to the flash.

Personally, the money is awesome, it will be spent well, but it's the recognition and exposure that I'm looking for. Because I won, maybe some flash artist out there will look at my piece and wonder if they could make it into a flash. That would be the best way to get recognition.

Here is the prime example - I think that Ismael points out that it is only 10% of the Flash winner's prize. Greedy people would want more, I'd merely suggest that greedy people get good at using Flash, as there will be other contests.

it was a pretty good madness day, not as good as the year before, your game was pretty sweet, but not "omfgbbqawesome" as last years game, the games where a little disapointing, the movies however where awesome
