I'm curious why Bosa hasn't contributed to the thread yet... I wanna hear what he has to say about me.

Betcha it isn't a comment, rather than him giggling like a school girl at the competition.

It's a great idea, tks for the help! :D

I've been a little behind on keeping updated on this thread, so I may as well post saying I'm still here and also say that when I'm judging, I look for composition, originality, mood, instrumentation, mastering, and EQing. I also give alot of props to those who give more originality than what is normally heard in a certain genre.

So does that mean if you put your song into the misc. genre then nothing is original? :P

fixed that last sentence to avoid any misunderstanding.

I hope you know i was merely messing with you and what you wrote was fine, i don't see how people could really misunderstand it actually

alot of the misc songs i've heard are very original, so it might be tough for a misc song to stand out. This being said, I have the strong feeling that one misc song will stand out over the other misc songs for true epicness. There's always more than one thing that contributes to originality, even if it's in a genre full of it.

Haha sorry, though somehow the conversation still made somewhat of sense rather than being a complete and total tangent xP

Can Someone please submit or say something, this thread just got boring =P

So I have 9 days to come up with something.

I made something a couple of days after this thread was made, but it's not up to the contest's standards, so I'll come up with something else and take more than lol40minutes working on a track.

Response to The Ng Audio Deathmatch 2010 2010-09-22 00:03:39

I've got one rather complex/multi-genre'd piece that will do, but I'm considering writing within the next 7-ish days some dance song with a grunty-IO flare. Unsure, progress is being made though.

No. The track can be as long as you want, or as short as you want, but bear in mind that a small 10 second loop has very little chances of beating a 3 minute song.

You can use common sense; if it's short, make sure it's up to standard despite its length, and if it's long, make sure it has enough content to keep the listener interested.

Oh, and if your song is too long to fit into the 8 MB limit without massacring the quality, then I can allow you to post the low quality version on NG and post it here in the thread but also link to a high quality version on another site (such as a file-hosting site) for us to judge.

6 days left, 6 pages in and only 8 tracks submitted, this isn't looking too good! I hope the rest of you guys get your tracks in soon!

I wouldn't fret it, personally withholding my submission from public view means my opponent can't compare his track to mine. Its a tactic to take into consideration, as well as may explain why there's way more submissions in the final days of each round.

don't worry i haven't forgotten. I just hope my opponent doesn't forget.

From my experience people post their tracks more towards the end of the deadline. Also, Darklight'll PM everyone who hasn't submitted a track and hasn't spoken in a while too, as a reminder.
