Ng Mag Writing Contest Submissions 2010-08-31 18:40:37
ENTRIES ONLY. ALL OTHER POST WILL BE DELETED.
There is a new Newgrounds Magazine in the works. It's not one that's read online, but a monthly magazine people can get in the mail with a subscription. In the magazine will be first looks at new animations in the works, interviews with popular users, commentary from flash artist winners in the monthly awards, and more. The point of this contest is to find good writers for the magazine. We will only be taking 6 winners. There are 3 categories you may choose from to work on. (you may submit entries for 1, 2, or all 3 of them if you wish, but you will only be working on 1 if you win).
DEAD LINE IS SEPTEMBER 23rd
1. INTERVIEWS (2 winners): Contestants must conduct an interview with one of their friends of Newgrounds and the interview must be up to a page long in word. The interview must go into full-length detail of the interviewed, and must have the account name and the real name (just first) of the NGer, must have labels of who is saying what, and must include correct punctuation, grammar, etc.
2. ARTICLES (2 winners): Contestants must pretend that they're writing an article that's going on throughout the world. The contestants will have to expand on the subject and make it more interesting than it already sounds. The subject can be world/nation-wide or compressed to newgrounds territory. The article must show correct use of literature techniques (punctuation, grammar, etc), and must be up to a minimum of a page long in word. (will be checked).
3. MINOR JOBS (2 winners): These jobs aren't the most important, but should still be part of the magazine. Contestants must create an interesting poll (ex: who would in a fight? A. Pico; B. Captain; C. PBot; D. Mastermind) and pretend to do research on this website to find interesting fun fact(s) and write a minimum of a paragraph or 2 about it/them. (ex: There are more girls on Newgrounds than you think). You may choose to do 2 different fun facts to write about if you wish.
Those are the writing jobs. By entering this contest, you are agreeing to take a few hours out of each month to work on 12 issues for the year of 2011 in the category you entered in the event that you are a winner.
good luck, take your time, and your work.
Don't be afraid of failure.
