Hey Democracy, nice to see your still drawing. Definate solid improvements all the way! I really like some of the face studies you started, keep it going man!

Just a render of that school sketch before bed. More tommorow. Night!

I forgot the picture...
Some sketches i ripped out in art class. I was pretty happy with both of them, though something seems off on the one to the left... Its either the animu eyes or weird nose that i forgot to shade partially. The right one is a pseudo self portrait; I used myself as a reference.
Not too bad sketches, the latest ones, but I think that the positioning, much more then whatever perceived style, has a lot more to do with the pieces looking 'off". They look slanted downwards, the eyes, and too close to the nose. Otherwise, like I said, not too bad - how long did it take to pull them off?
Yeah I'm just now realizing the off placement. Together, they took me about 35 minutes. The one on the right took a bit more time due to the awkward angle and whatnot. But thanks!
Drawing around... for a future piece, if i don't get distracted/bored.

less "gay sailor boy" and more shitty webcam pic.
You've improved my friend. I can say with all the shading you do.
Haven't updated in a while... Here's a sketch mainly focusing on formulas for the face and noses. I failed on the face part, looks a bit manly.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to draw very much due to a ton of school work, sports, projects, holidays, etc...
Anyway, on this guy, the nose (to me anyway) seems a bit large, but I can't decide.
Looking good but the nose looks tad larger than normal ;)
Something I whipped up
Anything I should fix?

Yeah.
One, post in in the thread! (Please and thank you!)
I hate clicking links xP
Two, it needs more contrast and could be cropped of all that extra white space.
It probably hurts your eyes because you have to quint to make out any sort of detail (well, at least I had to.)

I will not forget the picture this time. Is this any better? I gave it a darker background, so its easier to see, but looks more faaabulous in the process.

Well by full composition I didn't mean to imply you should be making huge finished pieces, but urh, working on the composition. I'm not sure how to explain it fully after saying 'where you put stuff' so here is a tutorial I quickly found (that I shall now go read myself): http://features.cgsociety.org/story_cust om.php?story_id=3275
Enjoy.
Thanks! Sorry, i when you said "full composition" the only two things I thought of were complete and painting. Thanks for the link though, really helpful and informative.
anyways, as a project this teen arts council I'm in, we went out and took a buch of pictures with a bunch of crappy disposable cameras. when we took the picture we wrote about what we thought we took one of, then wrote about little details we didnt see originally (e.g, how fucking blurry the top pic turned out).
The reason the cameras do this is because of the parallax between the lens and the viewfinder. Pretty fun project, and these'll be put up in the art show we're hosting.
I drew this one day studying for finals. I hate finals. They are bad.
Wow, it's been a long time since I was last here. I could go on about how my personal life got in the way of actually posting some art i've made, but I'd rather just go ahead and post some of my art.
If anyone has ever been in a principles of art class, then they should know that the class basically consists of tons and tons of studies over negative space, contour lines, shading, perspective, and things of the like. Anyway, I'll start of with some portraiture and then move onto some hand studies. You might need to twist your neck a bit, and I'll go ahead and say sorry for the crappy quality, my scanner doesn't and hasn't wanted to cooperate.
hand studies
already getting the double post message...

Hahahahaha, yeah, I've been lurking for awhile, thought. Anyway, continuing.

Bahaha. You don't know boring until you have to draw the same staircase in perspective 10 different times.
.
Some bricks with tennis balls. I don't know, ask my art teacher.
