Why is it I feel more inspired to draw other people's characters than my own?

i think what i like the most in your stuff is the clothing, it always seems to suit(heheh) the character perfectly.

loving all the art mr aigis... really like the doodles and ideas you come up with and your iconic style of drawing... i have to say, the girl you drew multiple times was my favoured doodle, it really has a lot of character!

Keep up the artwork or you will make me sad

You do a lot of practice, but you always practice in that one style you draw in with the small hands, huge eyes and ears and other weird proportions. It'd be cool to see you draw in another style one without thick black lineart...maybe with no lineart at all. Or you could stick to your comfort zone, your call! Personally, drawing one way for so long would drive me crazy

Goes back to drawing his 'is it a guy or is it a girl?' characters

Well I did literally just do that in the last picture I posted. But yeah, I definitely should practice different styles. I just want to make sure I'm competent in this style, since I have to draw a comic in it.

Anyway, here's an experiment in pixel art.

Well you an't "improve" that style much anymore, you've already got down a set of "rules" into it, such as the thick lines themselves the proportions and all the stuff I mentioned and some other stuff...

The reason I don't count that one you posted before I commented on this (for the umpteenth time) is that the lack of lines is almost unnoticeable because the character is so small and what not. I meant something more along the lines of that one portrait of one of your characters or perhaps something else that appears painterly. But do whatever you want. It's just that you've been drawing how you've been drawing all throughout this year and then some. Most of the people here are thoroughly impressed by what you do with this style but I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to see you expand.

sexual undertones intended

I definitely can. I do not feel comfortable enough in that style to do any drawing within that style that I want.

As an example, you mentioned that part of my style was 'small hands' earlier. That is not intentional on my part. If you see me drawing a character and you notice it has tiny hands, that is my own mistake.

Even the way I do the thick lines changes from picture to picture.

The reason I don't count that one you posted before I commented on this (for the umpteenth time) is that the lack of lines is almost unnoticeable because the character is so small and what not.

I didn't draw it to be small. I drew it to be my own laptop's wallpaper. So when I was drawing it it was a full sized character. That's just Newgrounds' size restrictions coming through.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to see you expand.

Me being one of those people. It's just so hard to work up the courage.

It's not all that bad it's just seems less busy without the bold lines as Knocturn and the other dude mentioned about your current style... Would you be curious enough to try your original Chraracters in hyper-realism?

I think Aigis was mocking the idea by drawing anime.

Considering how much anime is hated around these parts, I agree with the notion that Aigis is going for a sarcastic approach to Knocturne's advice. But despite Aigis being not fond of drawing anime, (my assumption) I still find the drawing very impressive.

Having a lot of styles has some downsides too. Wait do you guys hate me for drawing anime too?
