Somewhat fair point, haven't all world cup winners had native coaches?

It must help communication

With us I'm not sure if it makes a difference.

I mean look at Steve McClaren :P

Changing the topic, what's your bet for Mexico vs Argentina?

I'm mexican and, of course, i want Mexico to win. I think we have players that might be able to do some damage to their "slow" defense.
We must take Messi out of the game, if we dont, we're dead. And we must take care from Milito, Tevez, Higuain....I know this sounds difficult on paper, but we must stay optimistic and, hopefully, make history.

What do you guys think?

Well, it's a long story, and it's not really relevant to football... at all, really. In short, it's more to do with my personal priorities and the 'national priorities'. London will probably be even more of a no-go area regarding oppurtunities, except for big limited ones, that will be tied to the games. The media and so on just create an awkward backdrop for that.

I don't know, I'm getting ahead of myself, eh.

Looking forward to Argentina-Mexico now!

England's defense was bad in the first half, and in a complete panic in the second. Guess Capello didn't manage to get through to 'em during half-time...a shame.

Not saying that England deserved to win (though they were pretty damned good at the end of the first half and the beginning of the second)...but damn, you can't do that kind of damage to a team that's fighting to re-open the game just because you feel that "Video Replay would rob soccer of its spirit and cheapen it".

Seriously, who knows what could've happened, if they'd managed to tie before half-time? The sheer psychological effect can change the outlook of the game, ESPECIALLY if both teams mull it over for ten minutes before getting back on the field.

Bah. As per usual, this will change absolutely nothing. Not sure if ANYONE is a fan of Blatter and Platini in this Cup (the fat, useless, incredibly conceited bastards), or the rest of FIFA for that matter.

Ah well. Sorry for the English supporters, for Capello, and above all for Rooney. Knowing the British press, he's going to get slammed tomorrow morning...and all for being incapable of pulling a rabbit out of a hat and scoring enough goals to keep England in the Cup.

Pure awesomeness. You must read it.

I vote for Argentina (nothing against Mexico, though). I like how Maradona is making an actual contribution to the team as coach, rather than just sitting there like a crazy, drugged-up mascot like a lot of folks thought he'd be before the first few games.

Yeah no offense to the Mexicans here but I've got money on Higuain for the golden boot and Brazil to win the whole thing so please allow Higuain to get his second hattrick of the tourney thanks in advance

Is it wrong that i'm watching beach football while waiting for the next WC game?
I feel like i'm ODing on football this month.

I hope the Commentary team for the BBC get the sack. I had to watch part of the match on mute because I couldn't listen to their bullshit any longer.

Its a godsend compared to ITV, their coverage of the US Ghana match last night was so bad it was funny

I would like to point out now NOT EXPENSIVE it is to stick some cheap ass laser underneath the pitch which can read if the goals passed or not in a fraction of a second.

Either that or we watch the replay. FROM ANOTHER ANGLE!

I missed that match sadly. I had a noon binge and was passed out come kick off. But the BBC Commentary today were bitter speculative little cunts. It pains me that my TV licence money goes towards their pay.

They should just let Mick McCarthey commentate on every game. He could make poetry sound like a list of building materials.

I don't know about Argentina vs. Mexico, but I have a feeling Mexico will take this one. Maybe it's because I'm Brazilian and Argentina is our long-time rival, but Maradona is too snobby, and Mexico has a pretty good team. Depends on how Argentina will come into play...

Oh God, our coach is handing in the game again, just like 8 years ago. Bautista is on the starting team. He was a really critisized player. He hasn't done anything to be there, he wasn´t even playing on his team before the world cup. He isnt even in a good shape. Let's hope he knows what he's doing.

Whoever predicted 3-0 earlier in the topic was close. England's defense was just horrible.

I'm waiting for Argentina to rape Mexico, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some interesting shit going down in the game. Both teams are real passionate about their game.

Either way, it doesn't matter who wins. Germany's gonna beat them in the next round.
