WHOA, 1-0 PARAGUAY!

And hey, that foul didn't exist! That's silly...

Anyway, it's been a decent game so far, both teams taking some opportunities, a lot of defensive plays and, of course, shitty vuvuzelas. Bleh, I hope Italy draws this one.

It's probably a good thing Italy equalized. At least both sides will have to go for the offense again to achieve that minimal victory.

Anyway I'm supporting Paraguay. I never liked the Italians when it comes to football.

I think he is referring to that friendly match that was held not too long ago where Mexico won to Italy (2-1).

Bleh, Paraguay were disappointing there. If they had just tried to win it while Italy were short of confidence the game could have been over. Instead they were too aware of the expectation that Italy were good and would beat them, and tried to hold out for the 1-0, and then 1-1.

As I've said before, this is the weakest Italy team in years. Hardly any of them are left from their win in 2006, and those that are are now well past their best. Pepe looked a good player (I loved his desire to push for the win), but otherwise they looked clueless for most of the game and only improved once Paraguay sat back and let them attack. A good team will beat them comfortably (and that draw means they may come second in the group and face the Dutch in round 2).

Just watched Paraguay vs Italy from afar - if you ask me it was the best match yet. Both teams looked hungry and played well and the score really reflected the match.

Also, loved that Japan managed to overcome Cameroon! IKIMASHOO NIPPON !

I thought Italy-Paraguay was quite entertaining - a deserving score. The Italians played well when they looked at the Paraguay defense and figured they were getting pretty flimsy, and the same happened opposite in the first half. There were some great deliveries into the box, both goals included, though the foul just before the first was... well, non-existant. Probably the worst refereeing so far, with that in particular regard.

If the vuvuzelas were banned, it would show that the real players were TV companies, as far as I can make out. lol, they're fine. People are having fun. When they stop doing so, then you can consider something.

And I'm looking forward to North Korea ;)

I heard that Tim Howard got his final examination today.

Anyone know what the final say is? Is he going to be able to play on Friday?

We really need him. with all the goals he blocked off against England, him to really be out there.

What a shame, Mister Jensen.
I never asked for this, Mister Denton.

Howard's is fine. They didn't even take any X-rays or a MRI. Just some rest and some pain meds and he'll be ready for Friday.

Netherlands just beat Denmark 2-0 Denmark was my pick for that group and know some regretting is going on. England and USA in the same group is trouble. Portugal's an amazing team but they don't get to show there skills in the knockout tournment because Brazil usually wins being the best.

No exiting matches on today. I expect Brazil to win at least 5-1 against North Korea, but so far every time when I thought "They have to win by a mile!" the match was really disappointing.

You're kidding?

The Portgual vs Ivory Coast game should be exciting. They both know that Brazil will be the favourites to top their group and this game, even if it is both their first of the tournament is a critical one.

As much as I disliked the little arrogant prick when he was playing for Man U and when he helped get Rooney sent off 4 years ago, I got to admit, he is still a damn good footballer. :(

Rooney (the man without a neck) didn't need any help getting sent off. He kicked his opposing player in the crotch without any help. :P

Yes, Ronaldo is very talented, but that's just one more reason to hate him. ^^

Oh I know. Ginger scousers are just the worst for temper tantrums =P I just recall that horrible wink Ronaldo gave his coach at the time as Rooney was getting sent off which was quite unsporting considering that they played together at Man U at the time. Forget the fact that it's England vs Portugal, it was bad behavior.

Lol true. He's one of those players you hate unless he plays for your team. Sort of like how everyone hated Mourinho, unless he's at your club.

Bruised ribs are still pretty nasty they can make walking around or even just regular breathing painful and they usually take a long time to heal. Even more if you're regularly participating in heavily physical activities. I know he got a shot of pain killers during half-time, but it's still pretty amazing to me that he was jumping around and doing everything to maintain the tie. I jump into a fucking wheelchair for amonth after stubbing my toe.

Heh, World Cups only come around so often and even then who knows if Howard is going to be back the next time around. Even if he is hurting, he is going to pressure on the coach to let him continue to play. He knows it's very important to try and win this group since the runner up will likely face Germany.

They gave him a cortisone shot to numb the pain, but there is no real way to see how it will affect him until game-time.

I agree here. I don't like Ronaldo either.

He's a bit of an arrogant prick, and a crybaby. And while he is technically a good player, he always has to overdo things. He always has to do some silly little trick to embarrass the opponents and sometimes I wonder if he wouldn't have been an even better player without his technical capabilities.

What also bothers me is that the youth here are making him their big example.

As for today's matches, I think Ivory Coast vs Portugal is going to be interesting for the reasons Gagsy stated earlier. This game is probably going to decide group G already, and both sides probably know that.

Nah, that's the only thing I like about him. Other than that, he's an arrogant whiney little bitch that falls down every opportunity he gets. Reminds me a bit of Suarez, only Suarez isn't as good as Ronaldo. Still a great player though.
