cool. And wow glad you're ok. I was in a really bad one over the summer. The car rolled and was totalled. If you have any questions just ask, or wait for me to post my final one.

How's it all going to be put together?

I imagine everything appearing at once, then transforming into the 'megabot' in unison but that would only make for a 10sish movie.

I guess you might have multiple modes - like in the other one?

Also, what's the guideline on duration for the first transformation/appearance?

I was thinking of having everyone's transform by themselves, then into the part. Then after one robo is complete they will all come together. I was looking at how power rangers and voltron does it. Power rangers cuz to each robot as they transform then have them like fly into place.

I may also just have something you can just watch where you can just view all of the transformations kind of like the sequential version of Moarphs. Right now there is not frame limit. I couldn't decide on what would be a good one. As long as your transformation is visible. If not I may ask people to add a couple extra frames.

This doesn't really transform into anything in particular.

I've got this big elaborate plan to do sushi robots. Here's a sample.

That actually works very well and flows well, but yes it doesn't really turn into anything.

At 3/23/10 01:29 PM, Icandraw wrote: hmm then how about this

That is just lines being drawn frame by frame. Nothing actually transforms.

Are you using 3D?

I'm sorry but no it doesn't. It is a frame by frame drawing and coloring. This transforms. I know that is 3D, but it was the first example I saw. Look at Moonhitler and ShinsukeIto did. Or The example Blounty posted.

The into to Gameoverse 4 is actually a fantastic example of transformations, and of several tranformations coming together to make one single being.
Check it out if you're still stuggling with the difference between just plain FBF and an actual transformation

Yeah, sadly that is almost exactly what I wanted to get us to do but without the different camera angles until I got to the 3D part. That really upped the standards and we're having a lack of serious interest in this. If anyone has started something besides what was already shown, can you please post it? I really want to get an idea on who has a grasp of this idea. I am afraid it may be too difficult to do as a collab for now until I get a better example or tweak the idea.

That's what I have right now.

Excellent so far I'd say :)
That's exactly what we need, things actually transforming!

I guess I can't really say "we" until I have something to show.

Heheh, thanks!
I'm thinking of turning it into fbf though, because there might be a lot of movieclip by the end of it.
Wierd thing is though, I haven't made up my mind as to what it's transforming into yet.

That is the exact idea! Don't worry about the symbols, just make sure you name them as you make them. I really hope some more people can show me something like this. I think I am going to have to put this collab on hold for a bit until I make the idea a little easier. It's going to be too complicated for the not as experienced animators. So anyone else have some stuff?

Hey, um, do we need to add sounds? If we do, do you know a good place to get some?

And I've nearly finished my piece! :D

Response to Moarphs 2: Transmorphers 2010-04-02 12:12:05

ummm... i made a fbf one a bit ago then sorta tuned out

but is this the right swing of things for a fbf one ?
im gonna make one with symbols now hough

also about everyone getting loads of symbols try this :
make youre final transformation into a symbol .. so copy/ paste all the frames into an mc
then all your other symbols .. so body parts / super death laser cannons ect ect , put those in a folder and name the folder (yourname) symbols

also .. you cant have two symbols with the same name ( at least i dont think ) so should i put initals in my symbols (like "head" may be a common name so instead call it "AMhead")

would that work ?
then you would have a mutch easier time in the end

Yeah, I did that too! It's really easy to find things and I always do it even if I'm not in a collab.

Are you still doing sushi robots ...cos they looked really immense. As I said I was gonna make another part that's movieclip's .I'm making an iPod .bt before I do that is the collab going on hold for a while ???

So far theres only like 2 or 3 people that seem to be working on this project. So Ima put a little hold on it for now and try to work something a little better so we can get more people. So if you did do something , just hold on to it.

You don't need to add sounds. I have a few that I could send to people, or just search on youtube or a p2p and download some.

That is actually a great idea to use a folder. Initials or anything helps too. And yes your animaiton is right on track.

It transforms from a squidlike organism to a lady. I'm probably guessing the transformation is too fast.

Should I add a huge transformation to it then?

No!

Well here is my completed piece, I guess.

If there's something wrong that you guys point out though, there is a high chance I'll go back and change it. :P

Anyway, without further ado:
http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/a97f 3d6665d22f0f867e888f39de52f9

-I didn't add shadows because I was too lazy.
-Added smoke and light effects.
-The ending was kinda rushed. I didn't know how else to do it.

Response to Moarphs 2: Transmorphers 2010-04-06 20:11:17

I think the main problem is that you compare it to Moarphs 1. It has more random transformations, and no machinery-style transformations. You also say that we make a transformation animation, which then, after said transformation, reverts into a part of a larger robot. You don't seem to point out that the first transformation should be a robotic sort of one.
