This thread is not necessarily to bash on newgrounds. I generally enjoy coming to newgrounds, and if I didn't, I wouldn't be here right now after so many years. Don't jump down my throat for something as simple as a site preference please.

So, lately I've been going to 4chan a lot. Also, I've started to notice how different 4chan and newgrounds are. I'm just going to put this as a numbered list for the sake of lazy-ness and organization. The list is in no particular order.

1. More boards

4chan has 49 different imageboards. Compared to newgrounds' 17 boards, it's a no brainer. More boards give you more topics to chat about. A whole fucking board devoted to anime? I'm in. Anime not your thing? There's a music board just for you. Artist, photographer, gamer, fapper, writer, science nerd, news/politics jockey or maybe you're just looking for a funny gif. They have it all and then some. I mean, really, they have a board dedicated to origami. They take the cake in this aspect.

2. More funny

This is a personal preference, but 4chan's humor just appeals to me more. I'm not talking about "LOLOLOLOL RULES 1 AND 2 YOU LOST THE GAME DERP" shit. I'm talking about genuinely witty responses. I see them much more on 4chan than on here. Even something as simple as some kid getting his panties in a bunch over some trivial subject with a response 20 posts later with a simple "U mad?" macro is better than most of the humor I find on here. Really, no offense, but mod forced chains are usually not that funny. JUST SAYIN BRO

3. Less postcount/signupdate/popularity whoring

I'm looking at you twilight.

This is the best part of being anonymous. There are no "special" SUPERKEWL kids by default on there. If you make a shit post, you'll be made fun of for it, not praised for it by some 12 year old jerking off to your e-stardom. There's no pointless aura threads, no superkewl skype/stickam/ whatever people are using these days cliques. Don't misinterpret what I'm saying, there are some legitimately funny users in these cliques, but some of these kids turn it into a high school popularity contest and think that they're some sort of internet god for posting 5000 times in the 2 years they've been here.

4. Less rules

Alright, here's where the gray area starts to come in. 4chan's boards are more organized than you think they are. I like organization here, but I can do without the "by the letter" bans. See, if you made a dumb thread on 4chan saying "LOLOL CAN YOU WIN THE GAME?" you'd be called a homosexual, for lack of a better word, and told to gtfo. People on here think that kids like this are the general 4chan populace, which is wrong, for the most part. At least for boards that aren't /b/. I can't even imply that someone's a "f word" on here without getting banned, it's ridiculous. Really, I got banned for saying "the f word" + try. I think 4 of my 7ish bans have been from saying the "f" word. Not fuck, the gay one. There is the other side of this where every thread is filled with goatse and dicks, but that's why I don't go on /b/ while the kiddies are still awake. Which brings me to my next point.

5. More traffic

Come 6-10 am here on the east coast, you'd be lucky if you get 2 threads in 15 minutes. 4chan's ALWAYS active with new threads and new posts every second. You may be thinking "quality over quantity" but what if it's winning in both aspects? Really, I'll take a funny cock joke over an unfunny cock joke any day. There's just more going on in 4chan.

6. Threads like this

Really, if a thread like that was going to be made on newgrounds, it'd be a total disaster.

Once more, I like newgrounds, it's just that I'm starting to lose faith. It's not like overnight I had a realization that the bbs is going down in quality, it's been "going down in quality" for years. I'm just giving you my personal preference and I really do want to hear why everyone has such a big problem with 4chan. Blame newgrounds for the meme spouting idiots on newgrounds, not 4chan. If 4chan didn't exist the same kids would still be saying bedn stole their cadny or dickneck "jokes" at inappropriate times. I like newgrounds, but it's kind of pathetic if treysongz is the funniest troll this site's seen in a while. I'll continue coming to this site, but I think that I'm most likely going to have 4chan open in another tab from now on.

Actually I think the OP has a few very valid points. I'm not saying newgrounds sucks balls and will forever, we have our golden moments but I may consider risking 4chan for a little while. It's honestly not all bad, my older brother (I'm 18 he has 6 years on me xD) browses /toy/ all the time, and I've seen some funny ass shit.

The only reason I don't post too much on /b/ or go to 4chan in general is because of paranoia. Honestly, if you do something stupid enough there, you will get fucked, literally. Not just getting insulted, but shit like getting subscriptions to gay magazines and having over 9000 boxes of pizza delivered to your house. It's pretty funny to read, but knowing that it's possible that it will happen to you is just unnerving.

Other than that 4chan's pretty nice and intelligent discussion is much more possible there.

Which is perfectly fine if he feels that way, but I fail to see how we need to know when we all have our own opinions about each website which will remain our own, without someone seemingly trying to rub in the sites faults.

Eh, it's not all one liners. That would be like saying every joke on newgrounds is a cockjoke. It's not far from the truth, but it's still not exactly right. Also, I only come to newgrounds for the BBS. Maybe a flash movie or game here and there, but the forums is why I'm here.

IMO, I think that Newgrounds is reasonable for entertainment.
To me, it's a site more for creative thought and sharing work with others. Having members that come to the general forum for personal activity is a great add too. :)
