Hello! I thought I may as well start up one of these "sketchbook" threads, in the hopes that it'll encourage me to actually sketch more often.
This was done at work tonight.. sadly my shift ended before I could finish it, but life goes on.

Yay, you started an art thread :D
I'm going to be following this for sure.
I was wondering why it was SK. I saw the link on your sig so i know why now and I think I like the name Altrian alot better. That sketch is awesome! How long did it take you to get so good? Do you have any drawings you did many years ago? It would be really interesting to see how far you've come.

Ahhh yeah, silentkitty is taken on NG, by me, actually. But I can't remember the password and it's linked to an email account that has been dead since 2002, haha. Oh well. I'm just more used to being called SK than altrian. : P
I'll poke around and see if I can find some of my really old awful stuff, I'm sure I have some laying around.

An '01 account!! those things are valuable. I wish I had an '01 or '00 account.
That is some pretty nice doodeling.. Show some more :)
Thanks guys!
I might go back and finish the dragon, maybe if my next shift is slow and if nobody threw out the original, which I accidentally left at work. :P
In the meantime, here's my inks for this week's COW challenge (go join it). The horns and the little "sacs" on its side and around its neck will be electrified, as a defense measure.
sweet! about time you started an art thread.
i like the last one very dynamic pose. one suggestion the front legs maybe put them a bit wider apart so it really looks like its bracing itself in defense. also on the front legs the back hoof is bigger than the front one and kinda kills the depth a bit...just my two peas.
its awesome tho! can't wait to see it rendered

Thanks! Good points, I'll go back and fix them. :D Appreciate it.
So it looks like you're gonna be a new heavy contender in the COWs :D
The art looks great and good save on calling it "sketch" inside the thread, instead of "doodle" as a doodle is not detailed like a sketch is and is more like semi there swirls and flower junk.
iv been waiting for you to start an art thread after seeing you in the cows, ill be sure to check back here often awesome work so far

we join it for fun, but yes with altrian and jagundodo as cow regulars most people dont stand a chance, but hey join it for fun, and to look at the pretty arts

Aw, don't say that, I haven't won either of the last two I entered, so I'm currently at 0%, lol. =P Like ashman said, join because it's fun and a good learning experience.
You're so badass, I'm all eight equal equal equal D over here.

I believe you mean eight w equal equal equal D.
Um, just a couple warmup sketches I did earlier today, a girl and a .. thing that's.. either really happy to see her or is about to eat her, I'm not sure which. They weren't drawn together, I just plopped them into the same frame. :P

Ahaha, well, that would make dinner parties quite awkward.
This is a scan of a couple pages out of the little sketchbook I have (along with a random rabbit because I needed something to fill that spot). Sadly the scanner I was using completely blows, so they're a little shady. I tried to fix the top right one, failed miserably, and gave up. D: I'm fond of the jellyfish.
good stuff, youre such a great addition to the art forum!
x-treme wip for Mike's Morgan Freeman collab ( here ). I know his one eye is kind of wandering away, I'll fix it, lol. D:

Well hey, what's up god?

The nose looks like it is coming on a more straight angle compared to the face
This text is in bold, which makes me aweso and your statement irrelevant.

Yeah, his nose has been giving me issues, I think his right nostril is too big (viewer's left). I'll mess with it more. Thanks :]
My WIP from this week's COW. The idea is that it's more or less a gelatinous mass surrounding a skeleton that's kind of, uh, devolved due to the pressure on the bottom of the ocean making it squishy.
