Oh, I use layer masks to apply my colors. I'm not sure where I learned this technique but one good benefit is that shading is pretty easy because they don't go over your lines. Plus you can adjust the color anytime you want to.

the arms look a bit too long and wierdly positioned but other than that, i cant see anything, apart from his hand looks a bit wierd, but i think thats just me
