I can't believe it either! He was a great artist taken from us waaaaay to soon. May his memory live on, and may NG continue to provide the best in flash entertainment! Ben would want it that way.

ALLIED TO GOOD, NIGHTMARE TO YOU...............BITCH!

Seems like we have a death in NG about every year now. Well, nothing we can do about it right? Except not do anything stupid. If anything, the kid that tried to set fire to his school should have definitely died lol... Anyways, RIP.

Before Ben died he had signed a contract allowing me to post his cartoons and movies on the internet. I maintained section8studios where he continued to give me new animations and movies to post up for him. I will be posting all of his creations again in a new site in memory of Ben, and will let everyone know where they can go to see it all.

NewGrounds members don't die, they are just injested by thousands of radioactive grasshoppers and spread all over the world, creating the next major flu epidemic. So, when you catch Spurginsin's Disease in 2011, think fondly of him...

Rest in peace, Ben. You will live on through your animations and the hearts of your family, as well as everybody here at Newgrounds.

We love you man.

Sure, it's kinda sad that he is no longer existing consciously, but this whole 'false sympathy' is bullshit. He was a dumbass for getting himself involved in drugs. Don't pretend like he was some hero, because I guarantee that he didn't have any kind of a following.

Go ahead and cry about it. I'm just telling the truth.

There's nothing wrong with people showing sympathy towards the memory of someone who's died and towards their family and friends. We're not focusing on his problems with drugs because after what's happened, that's not important. What's important is focusing on the good memories of a person because the people closest to the deceased will want to remember those memories the most and who are we to deny them that? Your 'guarantee' shows how little you know about the situation considering artists are creating a tribute to his work here and if you simply look at the stick slayer series page, you'll see that each of those videos have at least over 50,000 views and have gotten a slew of awards. If you don't care, fine, but don't tell other people it isn't right for them to show sympathy towards the memory of someone who was a notable contributor to this website.

Sup internet badass, I see you're disrespecting a dead guy even though you've probably never spoken to him, that's pretty badass of you, internet badass. One day, I hope I can Finesse my badass to be just as badass as you, captain badass of the SS badass. The way you insult everyone for giving their condolences, that's badass. You're giving a middle finger to the man by not conforming to society by being sad when someone dies, do you have any idea how badass that is? It's very badass, dude. Us bleeding hearts merely giving our condolences to him and any of his family members? we aren't badass, but you are. You're totally badass. I wish I was as badass as you, but you're at the top of the throne in badassville.

Besides how badass you are, did he really do anything in life to you to deserve such disrespect in death? Have you even talked to him, or heard of him before today? I haven't, but I'm sure he'll still be missed by some, and for this I give my condolences. This thread isn't about to talk about his drug-related death, it's about to remember him, give our condolences, and move on.

Fuck off, you twat.

Stick Slayer was one I showed off to my friends before I joined Newgrounds.
This was when I was still in high-school back in 2005.
(I didn't even know those cameo characters until later)

The latest episode, is....almost metaphoric to his death.

I especially enjoyed the whole "savior of creativity" aspect of the series.

For one...I never really enjoyed "stick" animation. Never really saw a point to it. I mean, even stick-animation like "Joe Zombie" would be better if fully animated bodies.

Sticks are kinda a lack luster fashion. It's like....even if it's a really good one...it'll still be like 80% good, not 100%.

Ben took a concept of irritation and made it memorable to the association that everyone who will see a stick-cartoon, will automatically remember his awesome animation.

Ben, a reminder to give it our 100% in everything we love to do.

And this guy loved Animation and Creativity.

I remember back in 01 when his trailer came out then followed them and thought to myself. This had to be the most detailed flash animation I have ever seen!.

Shame that he died. Watching the Stick Slayer series was my childhood to teenhood.

Rest in peace Mr Spurgin. You are one of the Newgrounds Legends.
