suppose I should pop in for a quick post while there is some activity.

currently I am playing through the Resident Evil series, starting with REmake. hell of a game, quite challenging. while I enjoyed Resident Evil 4, I wanted to get back to the root of all Evils. unfunny pun aside, definitely having a blast playing it.

looking forward to a couple of games. #1 priority is Saints Row: The Third. definitely picking that up. afterwards I may pick up Ultimate MvC3 what with the new characters and all that jazz.

Damn I really need to pick this up. I borrowed it off a mate but only for one night, so I didn't get too far. The atmosphere is awesome I've got to agree with you there, I wish more devs realised atmosphere is just as important as visuals.

I bought Homefront also, which was total shit and has been sent back as of yesterday.

Also borrowed this off a different friend. I really didn't like it, I was interested a while back when the devs said they took a lot of inspiration from Half Life, but it turned out to suck badly. I can see where they took it from Half Life 2 with the whole uprising theme, but they pulled it off badly.

And I do like this thread so I will contribute to keep it afloat. Currently I'm mainly just playing TF2, Bad Company 2 and Minecraft, so nothing different from the norm. I've sort of started replaying the HL2 series as well. I haven't been on my Xbox for a while and I need to finish Crysis 2 so I'll do that soon.

I'm only really anti-drugs when it comes to the more hardcore stuff, but yea, I'm not someone who feels the need to smoke weed.

My mum and the rest of the family are going away for 2 weeks in a few days, I've got an ounce of green beauty waiting to be enjoyed. Games are going to be so fun. :3

If my mouse would stop being such a bitch I'd probably finish off playing Fallout and then move onto Fallout 2

I tried to give those games a go, but I got stuck really early in the game (I couldn't figure out how to navigate the fucking world!) so I gave up trying. I'm sure it was something simple to understand but I was just lazy about it, I didn't even ask anyone or turn to our friend Google.

I think like you were suggesting, it's probably more boring because it's single player. At least when you're playing these games you're pissing about with your mate.

Yeah, it definitely enhances the fun with a friend. Playing FF has been less fun (but still fun) with my mate not around. His girlfriend just back from holiday though so I doubt I'm going to see him for a while... *wateeesh*

I used to struggle with the same thing for some reason, but yea, it's really simple. You just click where you want to go and it starts moving. Once you're at the destination you just click the green arrow and it loads up the map. There's sometimes random encounters when travelling too.

Yeah, it definitely enhances the fun with a friend. Playing FF has been less fun (but still fun) with my mate not around. His girlfriend just back from holiday though so I doubt I'm going to see him for a while... *wateeesh*

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines is on sale for £3.74 on Steam right now and I'm tempted to buy it. Even though I really have no interest in the whole vampire thing, it does look like quite an interesting game and I'm sure it was TheMaster who recommended it in the past. Knowing me though I'll lose interest after a few hours and rather I had the £4 back.

Steam offers, why you so good at trying to steal my money?

How is BlazeBlue? Just finished watching the Finals on EVO good shit on Sparks for winning. I feel bad for Lord Knight though idk if it was that I never played the game but to me it looked like he was trying to get through Sparks but Sparks was just too beast.

I don't know where to post this because for some reason there's no active Steam General thread here.

I got Atom Zombie Smasher or whatever it's called for free randomly on Steam. Did anyone else? Why do I have this game?

So many games coming out this Autumn. I'm preordering Dead Island, Gears 3, BF3 (maybe) and Skyrim. If I have enough, I'll have to get Rage too. Maybe get AC:R and MW3 for Christmas? I'm overwhelmed by all the games.

bump, keep this thread floating

I think they added that to the Humble Indie Bundle 3. If you go the bundle earlier and activated the games on Steam then that's probably where it came from.

Hello my first time on the thread

LOOL LOL AT NEW F*G HAHA

okay so I'm exclusively a PC gamer

current games playing
Team fortress 2
Counter strike source

Current games I'm thinking about
Battlefield 3, if it pulls off the whole "fully destructible environment" thing then it will be one step above all the generic dirt hue'd fps games coming out this year.

PORTAL 2
still trying to get that game

El Shaddi

Games that will be turdsicles

Modern warfare 3
Rage

Was thinking about ONLIVE until I found out you could only own your games for a year before you have to rebuy.

Lolwut? You never have to rebuy a game after a year. They support a game for three years by default, longer if it's popular. But seeing how you play most games on PC and assuming you have a decent PC, OnLive would be a waste to you unless you want on-demand games on a laptop/netbook (like me).

Anyway, I suppose it's my turn.

I'm mostly on Nintendo or Sony's side. I've tried playing on Xbox 360 but it's really not me (although I'm a fan of Halo). I play on PC too, but I'm not a hardcore PC gamer seeing how I only have a laptop. Oh well. But I do enjoy Halo CE and Medal of Honor: Allied Assault on the computer. I'm also trying to get into Fallout 1 and 2. I am crazy about platformers. I grew up with Mario 64, played Crash and Spyro, and freakin' loved Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie.

Platforms I play regularly: Wii, PlayStation 2, PC, Dreamcast (mainly for Crazy Taxi), Game Boy

My favorite platform is the Wii. OH BOI HERE WE GO. I mostly like it because of its strong WiiWare and Virtual Console lineup. It's pretty neat to have NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, and more titles on one convenient place. And I like the WiiWare games, like World of Goo, LostWinds, Onslaught, Bit.Trip, Lit, and the like. Though some aren't exclusive, it at least has a lot of interesting games I've never seen before.

Was in my local game shop today and the guys were telling me about the Replay Expo in Blackpool on the first weekend of November. Tickets are £20 and the big 3 will be there along with a bunch of other companies and there will be loads of stalls and tournaments going on as well. It's only the 2nd one but around 5000 people are expected to be there so should be pretty good.

So, I started college last Thursday and the in thing to do it seems is to set up an N64 in your dorm room and let other people over to play it. It's pretty neat. Have any of you guys ever noticed any of this retro love at your colleges?

Sadly, no. I've heard the occasional person talk about owning a N64 or whatever console they have, but never actually saw any in someone's room.

Which means I have little over a month to find enough money to buy Skyrim, Battlefield 3 and possibly Modern Warfare 3. Somehow I think it's going to be a case of having to pick one and leave the others until I have more money. Skyrim seems like the obvious choice but then I'd be lacking whatever multiplayer game all my bros play.

Honestly, I'd go for BF3 if I were you. It comes before the others, so you have more time to save up for them afterwards, and it has multiplayer which you can play for ages with your friends and things and not have to get it for Christmas where you'll be thrown in with all the high levels who have loads of experience.

That's how I hope to do it anyway.

This is the first year I've ever had enough money to buy whatever releases I wanted. I don't even have a job yet either. There's just this secret site I'm making money on that I don't want to tell Newgrounds about because they'll totally ruin the site for me and I will no longer be getting first place making $250/month for doing nothing.

Feels good.

Wasn't expecting that answer from you, but it does seem like a pretty wise choice. Especially considering I'm going to be having to do uni work until mid December. Although saying that I'll be sad if I don't get Skyrim until Christmas time and all my friends have been talking about it, meaning it wont be as much of a surprise and probably wont be as fun the first time I play through.

Oh, did you manage to get your dad or order that extremely costly collectors edition for you Rory?

I just bought this Indie Game on XBLA called Blocks That Matter. It's like a mix between a 2D platformer, Minecraft and Tetris. Notch is either one of the developers or the producer, I'm not really sure how he was involved but I know he was. This game is amazing and I paid 240MSP for it. It's $5 on Steam too, but I had some leftover MSP. Yep.

Is there even such a thing? Because if so I need to book a hotel and get my travel plans together.
