ok, we played the #2 team in the state gallantly. they have been our largest rival for years, ever since i can remember, we used to play them in championship games every year. then we moved into their division and now we meet at least 3 times a season. its almsot a bloodbath

we held them off well int hef irst half, the score was 0-0 throughout it. our right fullback got only 1 yellow card. and two people on the other team got yellow cards in the first half alone.

right off the bat they started playing hard...and we're all ike "fuck that bitches" and we got off some beautiful shots (even i had a few good shots on net, they're goalie is very taletned) and then the unthinkable happend. during some weird jumble near our net, a vollie ball got loose and our right halfback went to kick it out. sadly the ball had too much spin and went backwards, our keep scrambled to catch the bobbling ball, but it went in. so it doesn't really count for the other team.

well, we picked it up. i had another good shot. and then all fell a part. they had a break away and got past our defense. we fell back and only one guy had the ball. three of them were horribly off sides. (even the other team's coach was yelling "GET ON SIDES") and somehow a pass found it's way to one of those guys and he put it into the back of the net. he had a look as if he knew he was off....but the ref didn't say shit. he allowed it! (same ref i've been bitching about during all my home games!!!!!)

that fucking ref even gave the other team a PK after the kid tripped over the ball in the 18yd box. yeah, he shanked it right over the goal.

we played great all the way to the end of the game. untill another bad called allowed the other team a free kick near our goal. again, the ref was being a douche. but oh well, thats soccer for ya. anywho, the guy crossed it and it went off one other guy's head in. now THAT was a very disurved goal! and i concider the game to be a 1-0 victory for them, as they probably are too.

i'm only a little annoyed that my coach kept putting me in this weird position where all i did was hang around on the right side and served balls into the middle. instead of putting me at striker or center halfback where i'm most comfortable, and more of a threat. oh well. riding the side line isn't too bad.

so yeah. i'm pleased on how we did. and we were missing 3 starters too. eventually the ref gave that same fullback another yellow, which equals a red in our league, and so now we are missing him for our game on friday...fucking douche ref. all he did was kick a ball just as the ref blew the whistle for yet another douchey call. apparently that was taken in a hostile manner (WTF?!) and he gave him a yellow

the same ref also introduced a very new concept to me as a call in soccer, kicking. "*TWEET* kicking!..." apparently, kicking the ball is now illegal in soccer! watch out guys! (seriously, thats what happeend, a kid on my team stole a hospital ball from the other team and was almost on a break away and all of a sudden the whistle blew)

the ref was making bad calls most of the game, for both sides. but more clearly against us

we even had a goal, the goaly on the other team actually spun aruond and the ball went into the goal. but the refs weren't paying attention, they were talking to people!!!! >:(

It's the same for me... but in reverse. I only get to see minimal coverage of football in England, because I'm working when the games are on and I like watching Baseball and Ice Hockey, so I bought the premium sports channel for it. The problem is they only show some of the small games (Though the Yanks / Sox games have been fun)

And now there's no Ice Hockey for a while *sob*
