Nice. I am probably wasting my time doing this cuz I really don't know how this will affect me...
"Holy shit, this place is still around?!?" -Jay
Wow, this is amazing! Thanks very much to Tom and the NG staff!
P.S If only this had been around during the Decline days...
Wait, so, I'm kind of lost on this whole program.
Let's say I enable Rev Share (which I just did).
Does this mean that I get paid for the ads on my page?
And whenever someone views one of my flashes, I will get money as well?
Or do I only get paid if they click the ad that's on my page/flash?
well, like, you couldn't, like, find it because, like, you're dumb, god

Ah, it's a lot more clear coming from an "unactivated" account's perspective (see image). We just set TropicalParadise up for this and you can see it's fairly obvious:
Just an FYI post
How do you set up the rev share? I've added my address and stuff (only thing to add was the paypal address), but I don't have any of the fancy graphs to play with D:
On a side note, wouldn't it be an idea to allow people to include ads in the RSS feeds to their music & flash?

The RSS feeds are FOR your music and flash.

I meant as an additional source of income for the revshare ...

Tom you're forgetting the most important part of the art triangle, the writers. Imagine it... Users creating multi chapter stories on their pages, each with another twist and turn. Sure you'll have those who'll bring out the same old tired story, but among those will be gems. Gems that will gleam so bright that others who didn't recognize the sight before, see it in a new light. Not only will Newgrounds be known for their great Animators and Musicians, but their very intriguing writers!
Of course that's just my opinion, heh.
So does this mean I should re-enable the ads? Yah I had ads disabled so sue me, but they slow my computer down, give it a break it's over 6 years old still gots the crappy Pentium 4.
I guess I could just allow the ad scripts to run and then just AdBlock the ones that would slow my PC down. Yah thats right ADS slow my computer down, if you really want me to run all the ads send me a new computer, or maybe visit my page now so I can get some of that ad monies.

I have an animation that I submitted a while back through the Flash API system. Have I lost all the money that the submission earned?
And number two, how do you add ads to flashes now? Is it the same as before?
You don't lose the money you made with the API, but if it isn't showing up in your stats PM me with the URL of the submission and I'll troubleshoot it. You can still put ads in your Flash the same way as before!

Rev share will be a part of the Writers' Portal when it launches!
At 4/15/09 06:00 PM, Fyndir wrote: Out of curiosity, how does this work for collabs and joint projects?
Will there be an option for the main submitter to set a ratio? So that people who did more for a submission get a greater reward than people who did less?
There already is a system in place on the submit form that allows you to set a % per author and musician. These percentages apply to the rev share system!
Hmmm... I thought I was doing this right, but now what I've done is I've added the ad to one of my older flashes (as a sort of test) and all its done is put the newgrounds logo thing with 'Our sponser...' with no ad, and it dosn't say anywhere that it is in my earnings source.
Keyframe+Gap+Keyframe= classic animated hit
Duck Pie is the going to be the next internet meme! Spread the word!

Setting up the api ads really is not that hard. The point of the api ads is that they stick with your submission no matter where it goes on the internet. It's not worth investing the time in your idea because it's just a worse version of what is already available.
Anyway.. the new interface is great! It's nice to see everything gathered in one place for viewing. The new graph is also much more streamlined and convenient.
awesome! confused though. does this just track your api revenue, or do you actually get money for the ads on your flash's page?
Okay, it's all good, but I don't get what's happened here. It says I've made $0.05 in the earnings breakdown, but it says I've made $0.00 on the graph. Even when I change the source to userpage ads, there's still nothing. Any known reasons for this?

I want to work on that. I'm am going to make something worth it.
What a shame, Mister Jensen.
I never asked for this, Mister Denton.

Oh, okay, thanks for the reply. And yeah, I do seem to have a pretty amazing eCPM.
