Well if you use FL Studio then you could use the fluidr3 soundfont. Yes it's not a VSTi. It's just as good though. It's free.

I´m sorry, I don´t know free VSTi but there are some very good plug-ins like EZ Drummer which was already said. And if you want to make really good rock or metal songs, you could but "East West Quantum Leap: Ministry of Rock".
You will get 7 original recorded electric and acoustic guitars, 4 recorded drumkits (one of them was used by metallica) and 5 basses (they´re recorded too).
I just got it yesterday and it´s great.

GTG Zapkit:
Drumsynth a la Kraftwerk with multiple outputs. Pitch, decay and mod controls of individual drums.
GTG Synths seems not to have it anymore on their official page but you still can get it from VST4FREE and from SOFTPEDIA.
