90% of the time, there is no prize, it's a contest, who wins gets to flash theire e-penis around.

*flashes*

I think mine is going to be either a German techno song or a trance/dance song with cheesy German vox in it.

God i h8 u kerrie. Seriously what the hell. I wanted india!

Anyways because i cant get the country i wanted can we change some of the rules?

For one i think there shouldn't be 1 person per country. Because of this i think there should be sub categories for winners. For example there should be a category for Country Best Represented, Best Song, Best Song in Winning Country...etc.

If you could add these changes that would be awesome.

Also can u extend the submission date? Maybe February 28th? Easy to remember and that gives more time to ppl.

If you agree with the changes i would also like to represent India. Thanks!

I'm sorry, but everyone else seems fine with the rules, I can't change them just for one person.

Actually, I wouldn't mind an extension - it would make it easier to get real Bagpipes recorded.

Response to Represent A Country [Contest] 2009-02-02 10:26:19

If it's an extra day or two than I wouldn't be opposed to it. I'm not sure it's absolutely necessary, and the person in charge of the contest gets final say. If it was up to vote I'd vote yay. If it's not going to happen than let's drop it and just worry about getting our submissions done before the 27th.

Why did I think it was the 27th, the 15th of next month is plenty of time.

I'm really looking forward to it, I have a few more ideas for contests, I like hosting Contests, so I may make it a regular thing.
When the contest is over I'll ask people to put their names forward if they want to be notified of my next contests.

You can always do another country... if you know English, Australia hasn't been chosen yet, nor has England (My Home Country). I'm pretty surprised France hasn't been taken, if your stuck for countries I'll happily recomend some.

I'm German, that can speak english fairly well and that doesn't play didgeridoo. So Australia isn't really an option. lol
Naw, I think i'll pass.

No one said anything about Native instruments being a requirement.
Just as long as the music reflects the country.

Well here's my chinese song. Since there's no prizes. I hacked this together in 10 minutes.

Response to Represent A Country [Contest] 2009-02-02 23:15:45

i liked it brokendeck, but the rules stated it must be between 1:50 and 3:00 mins long. i thought your song was a good start and wouldn't want you to be disqualified since your song wasnt long enough. :D

Are you serious man cmon! I mean i dont want to whine but if you implement the changes im pretty sure this can be more than what you have made it. This could an annual contest and it become something huge. If more people want to join then i think you should let them.

I know there are 200 some countries but there are only specific ones with a commonly known music style.

Im not doing it just because i want my choice im doing it because this could become something more than you have made it. Please hear me out. You didnt even comment on the sub categories i mentioned earler.

Please hear me out.

Rules are rules, I put them there for a reason... don't like them?
Don't enter.
I'm not changing the contest for just one person, 1, The competition would be ridiculus farce if I kept changing the rules for people who whine, 2, the more you whine, the more I'll not want you in the contest, there are a good amount of people who are happy with the rules and have to follow them, why are you so special?

Very sharp! And besides that... hardcore is outdated ;) Hardstyle is the new style!

It won't ruin the contest, if no music is handed in before the deadline those people will be disqualified, I won't take any excuses either, be there on the day or be disqualified.
I am pretty strict with the rules, I don't think I should change them if one person clicks their finger though, it's not fair on the other entrants.
Good luck everyone!
I'm really looking forward to this contest.

I call South Korea.

This will be epic.

Oh, and a good idea is to make either a project account, or a newspost in your profile. Easier to update and maintain.
