'Twas a shit year, but 2012 will be FUCKING AWESOME! I always know how the next year will be during the last days of the old year. I knew before 2011 that it would be shitty. Shortly after I had to break up with my girlfriend after 5 years (she didn't really leave me much of a choice) and my company - the best one I've ever had the privilege to work in- was on the verge of going bankrupt.
Never before I had such a good feeling about a new year, I'm so looking forward to 2012 and in lack of a good english phrase I wish everyone here a "Guten Rutsch"!

I am too pumped for what 2012 has to offer. There are quite a few epic games coming out for the 3DS that I've been waiting for... (Animal Crossing, Super Smash Bros, Paper Mario, etc...). I'm also going to get my full drivers license in one more month! After that, hopefully my audition and interview will go well with Berklee, and maybe get accepted. Berklee is my top choice. As for my music, recently I have been producing seriously for Goa Trance. This genre has been dead for the past couple years, and I want to bring it back.

My last wish for next year is to maybe find my dream girl.... who knows?

Symphony No. 1

After about 2 years of writing and testing out various themes for it, I have finally found one I love for my Symphony (specifically, the second movement).

- Attempt #1 (December 2009 to March 2010) - wrote first movement (sonata form), second movement (andante for string quartet), and third movement (scherzo)

- Attempt #2 (September to December, 2010) - wrote two first movements (sonata form) and I like some themes from both, but overall didn't feel they were good enough

- Attempt #3 (August to December 2011) - wrote and developed a few themes, which may or may not be used in this symphony, but most of this time was spent listening to symphonies and teaching myself more advanced theory (using the scores of music by Brahms, Mendelssohn, and Beethoven)

I'm hoping to get this thing completed in spring: I want to see if my college might be interested in performing it... I think they might be. (I mean, how many other college kids write symphonies? lol)

I learn so much every single month that I'm always amazed at how bad my last song was, so when I compare my old shit to my new shit its always pretty mind boggling. I hope my learning curve never dies down!

First time I found that I had just finished listening to an Audio Portal track which was way too soft (I can't seem to find said song now, but I remember writing a review for it a long time ago).

I had to turn my volume up a lot more to hear it, and then I went to browse the forum, I absent-mindedly left my mouse on the particular thread mood of a rant thread, and soon after I got the fright of my life.
