News Flash

I never realized how much I was under-utilizing the tools given to me in FL Studio until I finally broke down and watched a few tutorial videos on youtube.

... Also... I knew I relied too heavily on the limiter... but christ... I feel like a total tool now watching someone put actual effort into mixing their track.

what did you under-utilize? The instruments or rather the mixing stuff (like patcher and so on...)?

I was blown away when I realized the stuff I could do with sytrus! o.O

I've been under-utilizing the mixer and the vast majority of the effects that you can drop into the mixer slots. As well as automation... Until I watched this video, I had no idea there was an LFO option in the Edit Events window... I had been creating all my sine automations by hand until now... Would've been so much less of a pain if I knew this LFO option existed.

Also... Under-utilizing a spectrum analyzer (For which I actually downloaded Seven Phases Spectrum Analyzer) to find where my mix needs tweaks, and to properly EQ all the elements of the track so nothing really gets muddled together.

been there too

felt the same way when I first found out about the riff machine, or how you can alter the shape of automation... makes ya wonder how much shit you can still 'discover'

If only that shit worked in the song track thingy. I know how to use this stuff, but can't usually, because I'm always using audio clips that must go in the audio sequencer and not the pattern sequencer.

And yes, even if you put events on a midi/piano roll sequence and then put them in the song track thing the events do not carry over.

See, look at this! I barely know how to word all this crap!

Unless somebody knows of a way...

Well, look on the bright side, there's still something you need to learn.

That's a bright side... right?
I'm not sure what to believe anymore.

I thought there was an option to turn your events into automation clips...

well I don't "hate" it, I just think it's stupid. But I think that of a lot of Pop Ballads. I'm more the upbeat kinda guy. That Lord of the rings ed sheeran song is kinda dope though!

I personally like Neil Finn's song for the first Hobbit movie. I think he really nailed the essence of it.
