2004 was not too bad 2000 to 2009 were probably some of the best times.

Kids today take way too many drugs. When I was young, you never had meds for anything. You had to wait until you were old to take pills all day. Speaking of that, where are my pills?

That song is lost to many regulars now, I'd forgot about it until I found it linked in this thread, brought back some fond memories. I think 2003-2006 were the golden years, once World of Warcraft picked up steam lots of users stopped posting and only logged on to deposit for the day. I've seen many mod teams an regulars come and go, and it's always a treat when an old time user posts in a thread just to see what they're up to.

It is nice to hear from older users once every blue moon. It is very difficult to maintain a daily presence on NewGrounds every day for over eleven years. That takes unknown levels of dedication, that very few have.

Yeah honestly newgrounds is better in content but for some reason seemed much more fun back in the day with the kind of creativity that was coming through.

I think I only took a year and a half off of depositing on this account, it gripes me in hindsight that I did that since I do like increasing my level, but I like to think I've been on here pretty much every day since I started this account. I wish I could have recovered my old account, but the email to it was lost in time, like lots of stuff on here.

I think it was more fun because we were kids that thought hack n slash with blood was awesome and orgasm girl was an edgy game, triple A and console have spoiled us too much.

It has a been a major pain in the ass, spending many hours in libraries, but I have consistently stayed on NewGrounds throughout my almost twelve year account. I have seen many users and mods come and go. I have seen so many fads and memes come and go as well. I hope to be this active on NewGrounds for a long time.

Most of the regulars are in their mid 20's now, some have breached 30 but they mostly have kids and families; I kind of wished I'd made it to some of the meet ups over the years, but I was in Nova Scotia for all of them and the stopping power of water was too much for me to justify traveling.

I'd like to be here until me or the website dies, it was a pretty big part of my teenage years and introduced me to some pretty big concepts that a closeted racist small town can't really show you.

I live in the South, and most of the Meet ups are up north.

I think NewGrounds will never disappear. It might be slower as the years go on, but I do not think it will just stop someday.

Heh, I was going to be more active in this thread, only to get sidetracked for over half a dozen years. When it comes to the best year one would have, for me it was 2006.

It was a fun time back then.

2007 was pretty good too.

With that said, have any of us find a user younger than our accounts?

Had I made a new account in 2003, I'm sure my level would've been right up there with yours. But I lost both my email and password, and didn't find my old password until, well, almost 7 years later :O I found an old password list while I was moving out of my old place, damn glad it worked!

Considering the lack of bandwidth back then, we sure got a lot out of Flash. Still amazes me how much content you could compress into a megabyte or two, even if it was a standalone .exe running Flash 1 or 2.

Vault 101 I have many old and deleted Flash submissions, PM me the filename, maybe I got it.

Some of the best on NewGrounds squeezed the most out of Flash. More than anybody thought they could.

Haven't posted since October 2009, holy shit!

Used to stay awake all night making flash with a Firefox tab open on the BBS. The best bit was the semi-anonamous posting, unlike face book!

Here's one my favourite memory if Newgrounds: late one night, a very excited user was proud to present his brand-new website. Tons of original material, flashy designs, ergonomic page layout and had set up a deal to have adverts. He posted in '09/08 saying along the lines of "hey u guise, check out my new website Gamedia spent a lot of time on it!". The brutal first comment set the tone for the entire rest of the thread - "You realise you've just called it Gay-Media" (username forgotten, but not gone)

Thought that was with sharing

If you haven't been here in many years, try looking back far into your own posts, it's littered in low-res pictures done in flash about one thing or another m

I bet by the time it gets released.....It would be the year 2090 and I would be a decayed corpse with a blunt in my mouth....

That sounds like a pretty conservative dead line. I'm sure Tom's kin will carry the torch and we'll get it by at the latest 2030.

Porn ads were awesome, especially the hot anime girls that always wanted to invite me to come play with them.

Pico's school 2 comes out when Link's Quest for Ass 3 comes out.

It just occured to me that I'm now old enough to qualify for this thread (my account became over 2 and a half years old since October 8).

I'd make a joke about me "peaking" too soon, but that might draw the ire of older members since they "peaked" a longer time ago than me (thus reminding them of how old they are) and I'm in no mood to start a flame war.

Then again, a flame war sounds exactly like something a bunch of crotchety old geezers would do anyways if they grew senile enough.

2 and a half years does not make you old. At least, five years to pretend to be old.
