i have a question for you Tom. I live in philadelphia, and i know a landlord who owns a few appartment houses in the suburbs.. about 10 min out of the philadelphia area. however, the houses arn't really... factory/ building size.. more like large house size. is that still good?

Every once in very great while comes a ridiculously funny thread. So funny in fact i must put it into my sig http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic /1049194/1

Good luck with the office space, Tom. When AH makes it's hit, you can decorate the place with useless novelties off the royalties.

I'm just gonna slip this sig in now, since I need a URL. Don't mind me.

To you any warehouse would be a "giant" one :)

Don't forget to bring your phonebooks :)

That's a good idea, you should register the trademark immediately.

The Newgrounds name and tank logo are trademarked, and we are already incorporated. I have my shit together some of the time. :)

I like the energy of a large industrial space - tall ceilings, tall windows, exposed ductwork / pipes / etc... Exposed brick, concrete, the works. :)

Actual Philly is a bit crowded. I'd suggest you hit the suburbs, like Chester County.

(my grandmother lives in West Chester, so I know. Theres tons of empty lots once you merge into West Chester.)

Hey Tom, there's an abondoned Movie Theatre about the corner of welsh and the boulevard. That'll be your best bet

Tom get off the crack.

Response to Philly Area Office Space 2003-12-18 18:01:45

Tom... about those TPS reports... did you get the memo???

I like the old run down factory idea the best. On the outside it'll look like an old WWII era steel mill, but on the inside its all clean, warm, and pimpified. Put a giant Newgrounds.com logo and tank on the outside, bada bing! If it's big enough, you could hold all kinds of events there, and have celebration parties for things like AH or an NG DVD being released. Heck, get a liquor license and make it the best club in philly!

thats my stapler

Hey Tom, there's one across from my house. It's been abandoned for years, but it's in a prime location surprisingly. No, I don't live in the ghetto. I'm from Lansdale, which is about 30 miles or so north of Philly. My dad is on the local planning commission and my neighbor is a real-estate agent for just the area you're talking about. I'll ask around and see what I can do. I'd love you help you guys out if I can. Maybe I'll see you at the screening of your friend's movie. I'll get back to you soon with some real-estate info.

HI Tom have you checked for any good places outside the city limits off Philly are they in good shape what is the price would you spend $300-400 on a good one.

Response to Philly Area Office Space 2003-12-18 22:19:21

I know it is stupid to say but, what the hell. If you are thinking about moving out of state later in the Newground lifespan, think about moving to Colorado. I know this dude, he is a real estate agent, he says that Denver is the number one city in the country for abandoned buildings.

Sincerely,
Joe

Yeah, that might be cool. You can set up the old projectors and navigate NG on a gigantic screen, or work on NG with bootlag films playing, how bad ass would that be?

I second the Chester County suggestion

here is a movie theater that recently closed down

Regal Cinemas
120 Eagleview Boulevard
Exton, PA
610-594-1700

im not sure if the phone number works

That is getting further and further from where I want to be. :) I also imagine a Regal Cinemas building would be out of my price-range. There are some surprisingly cheap big buildings out there that have been abandoned... Just gotta find the right one.

I'm tempted to look at abandoned buildings in North Philly - there are lots of them, and they are cheap. Of course, you are paying to live in a REALLY BAD neighborhood... But who knows. Troma bought a four story building in Hell's Kitchen (horrible part of NYC), and now it's a goldmine!
