A BIG THANK YOU!!! to everyone who participated in Pico Day this year! The Pico Day 2007 collection is bursting at the seams with awesome entries - I'll announce the prizes later this week. It's a tough decision, with entries like this one!
I'm also considering a best pre-loader award, just because this one makes me lol every time I watch it. EVERY FREAKIN' TIME.
We had some great submissions by known artists this year, such as The-Swain & Toonimated, Zombie-Pimp and Tim Frommeyer, but we also had some amazing surprises from lesser-known artists, such as EvilSeed, diet zribi and mongoid!
Luis and TrueDarkness made a game with some of the most beautiful animation of the day, but I KEEP CRASHING THE DAMN BIRD INTO STUFF! I definitely gotta try playing it on a Wii.
I feel bad even naming names, because I'm leaving out tons of other great submissions... GO WATCH THEM ALL!
ADVANCED NOTICE: Be on the lookout for MADNESS DAY! We have decided that SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22nd will be the day that we celebrate Krinkel's insanely popular series. This gives you almost five months of advanced notice, in case you want to make something very special for what is sure to be a very big day on NG. Like Pico Day, we will be awarding CASH PRIZES (to be announced) and expecting outrageous violence, intense action and/or loads of humor!
Madness Day submissions can be either games or movies - we'll announce more details soon. Just remember that your goal is to STAND OUT and not just be a generic Madness clone. You can make non-Madness-like cartoons featuring the Madness characters (imagine a Brackenwood-style Madness movie), or make Madness-like cartoons featuring non-Madness characters (picture Alien Hominid fighting endless FBI guys, Madness-style)! Of course, straight up Madness-style cartoons with Madness characters are completely fine as well! We will be providing a Madness Day pre-loader, to tie all the submissions together into one big happy family.
It's also worth noting that Clock Day is August 15th. Set your watches!
