Adam and Jamie visited my home town San Diego's Birch Aquarium in La Jolla and gave a promo of their Shark Week as a Kickoff Weekend event. Afterwards they gave signatures and photo ops so naturally I went and took some pictures.

They mention using Buster as bait a few times but no he's not there unfortunately. They jokingly think buster might even be more famous than they are.
Here's them trying to punch the smaller sharks they were able to attract with bait. I enhanced this picture a little bit but it might still be hard to see. The shark's on the left being punched and the long thing in the middle is a Mythbuster hand jabbing the shark.

Most beautiful beach I've ever been to.
Here's the foam shark with the scuba tank in the mouth just like in Jaws. The results of the two myths were mixed. The punching of the sharks seem to deter them a little bit but not that effective, but then again they didn't want to hurt the sharks so they only did tiny jabs.
The rifle shots didn't make the scuba tank explode, but it did send the tank flying all over the room it was tested in. They tried shooting the front and the sides with same results. Finally they had the FBI plant C4 (YES C4 you read that right) on the tank and we could hear a big explosion. It ripped the tank and the shark to shreds.

MAn I love there show I learn so much watching it like if someone is shooting at me with a highcaliber weapon if I jump into water and swim down a bit I'm pretty much invincible to there gun fire.

Well here's a picture of a baby shark. It's blurry because I didn't want to use flash, so the camera increased exposure.
There was an area where they let us pet baby sharks. Their skins are pretty rough.
