Plus the protect your swf (lilJim) link doesn't work.

Yep, true. You'd better prepare for page 14, Denvish.

This is the working link to lilJims post.

It's the last one, and Denvish had just forgotten the 'bbs/' part.

Here we go again. I had to trim the 'other useful links' section down, since I'm hitting the post limit. I may have to do some pruning on the main AS list at some point soonish.

Wouldn't you have place for all of the "other useful links" if you didn't include the message that you didn't have the place for all of the "other useful links", which you wouldn't have to put there if you had the place for all of the "other useful links"?

So, I guess, no.

Anyway, good job with writing exactly 6,500 characters.

I don't want people to stop making them. But I think we've covered most subjects now. The list can handle another 5 or so (without the 'other useful links')... I'd like to prune some out, but even the ones that start out weak tend to have cool code posted by other people, so it would be a shame to remove any of them.
The one thing I CAN do is remove the author credits, but I'm loathe to do that, since I know some of you have put a lot of effort on your AS: threads, and I think that deserves to be recognised here, as well as in the threads themselves.

That wouldn't be a big problem to me, but then again I've only written 1 of them, so I guess I don't have much to say about that.

Otherwise, I think splitting it up into 2 posts is a good idea. But rather than splitting by difficulty maybe just put general AS in one and Specific effects/projects & Other useful links in the next one.

Maby like

Inglor:
AS: blah
As: Mlah
AS: Trig

Glaiel Gamer:
AS: Photo negative

and sort it like that so credit the author once for all their threads.

instant hit shooting or textboxless passwaord(left right left right a b a b) or maybe i can do some stuff on string manipulation or whatever

Well... no-one's done a specific, simple, jump/gravity/bounce tutorial yet (it was kind of covered in N-C's game tuts, but I think it would be good to let it have its own topic). How do you fancy that? It can be approached in a few different ways, so hopefully people would post alternative methods.

Yeah, but let ImpotentBoy2 take it if he wants it. The rest of us can chip in afterwards (I started writing it a while ago, but never finished), but he think he has more than enough AS knowledge to create an AS topic.

Question to denvish, how can i make it so somebody is walking left or right and and clicking will make them shoot while still moving. I have 2 seperate frames, one with still legs and a shooting animation, and one with a movie clip of walking legs and a shooting animation. I want to have it so when you're holding right and click it goes to the walking/shooting frame, and plays (It stops after the shot is over) which is frame 9. And when its just regular shooting without moviement go to frame 3. This is what i already have entered in.

onClipEvent (load) {
speed = 4;
stop();
dir = 0;
}
onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
if (Key.isDown(Key.RIGHT)) {
_x += speed;
gotoAndStop(2);
dir = 0;
} else if (Key.isDown(Key.LEFT)) {
_x -= speed;
gotoAndStop(15);
dir = 1;
} else {
if (dir == 0) {
gotoAndStop(1);
} else {
gotoAndStop(4);
}
}
}
