Happy Pixel Day!

With all the snowfall lately, I guess it's no surprise that I ended up crafting a Winter-inspired track. I know that I've historically broken these up into various titled sections, and I certainly have my own story within my mind's eye, but I'd love to hear what kind of tale the music weaves upon the loom of your imagination! That's much more fun and interesting, anyway.

So, go on! Regale me with the imagery that plays out for you, or just let me know what it makes you think of while you listen. Stories and nostalgia are always welcome here. I hope that you enjoy the music, and - wherever you may be - I pray that you are warm and safe and comfortable.

New Journal Entry: Took a wrong turn at the North Pole and somehow ended up at a quaint little hole-in-the-wall known as the "Frontpage." Although it was an unscheduled stop, I shall remember the experience as long as I live. (The rest is redacted)

Hyperborea, also known as Thule, constitutes the mythological center of society to antipose the center of civilization in mesopotamia.

culture claiming to emanate from or imbue some of the spirit of that mythos SHOULD NOT rely on any FORCE except intelligence to preserve its experiential existence.

the song makes me imagine my work with coriander or when I found a painting of someone with long hair , dressed in layers , carrying a map , casting sparkles into the sky which form a whale in the sky .

ChronoNomad responds:

Okay, but why the zero-star review? One does tend to hope for at least a little feedback in a review, after all.

It's very nice job.

ChronoNomad responds:

Thanks! Glad you like it, man.

I love this one! I really like the pacing and progression of this one; how its divided into 3 "parts", and how the melody evolves over time, sometimes being more fast paced but not being all gas no brakes. The melody itself is also very good, as it works perfectly into the pixel-theme, and helps enhance the nostalgia the song gives off. I can't really describe it; the melody and the pixely theme just overload me with nostalgia. Good work on this one, I'll definitely be coming back to it :)

ChronoNomad responds:

Thank you for the very complimentary review, Ackee! I'm really happy to hear that you like the pixelated jam and that it checks so many nostalgic boxes. The track itself is more on the downtempo side, but the pace seems to pick up and slow down based on the speed of different variables, such as the fullness of the percussion and timing of the arpeggios.

I'm just glad that folks seem to like it! I've listened to a ton of other Pixel Day tracks, and they tend to be quite a bit different from my chosen style. But hey, maybe being different is what makes it popular. Variety is the spice of life, after all!

C'mon back and give it a listen as often as you like! And thanks again. ^__^

I'm just new here in Newgrounds but this music is really good!

ChronoNomad responds:

In that case, welcome to Newgrounds, KitsuneAlpha! I really appreciate the review, and I'm glad that you enjoy the music. May you find much more on the site to your liking. ^__^

This so cool. I can see this in some kind of adventure game. I'm inspired. Keep it up! :D

ChronoNomad responds:

Aw, thanks for leaving a review, HarkuStuff! Inspiration is a vital commodity to any artist, so that's quite the compliment. Onward, to adventure~!
