EDIT: Hey, I got frontpaged. Like the good old days. Well, I guess I'll take this opportunity to promote some stuff. Ok, so first off, get like a water-purifier pump thingy for your home, man. Super useful. Also, this guy on reddit said good stuff about dogecoin, you should probably invest.

My "Destroyer" category entry for the Newgrounds Video Game Music Challenge. The category implied a sci-fi boss fight in an interstellar distant future.

I wanted to have a few stages of intensity to mirror the assumed phases of the boss fight. I also had the vocal-sounding synth in there to create more depth for the boss-character. By the second-half I threw in some glitch-core amen break stuff to give a breakdown vibe to the boss followed by another buildup, synth-laughter and a final push to win.

So this was meant to be a first boss, but I spose we gotta assume this is some fiendishly difficult turbo-tunnel kinda game here. The title is a nod to newgrounds musician ParagonX9, who made a ton of successful melodic dnb tracks.

One of if not the best dnb tracks I've heard in recent memory. I'm practically without any point of critique. Although I do think it may benefit from just a bit more distortion and possibly compression on the eight string, maybe a bit of sub under it to help it cut through as aggressively as its synth bass complement. Could just bump it up .3 dB and see what happens. Otherwise, flawless victory. Really surprised me. Frontpage in my humble opinion well deserved!

Well that was something.

Top-Shelf work, all around. Composition, arrangement, sound design, production, you name it. Now I’ll be the first to admit that I’m naturally a bit biased towards DnB, but the quality is there to back this track up. The variety the different sections have is phenomenal, yet still staying true to the core idea for the entirety of the duration. Mix is crystal clear and sound design is fantastic, those waterdrop-sounding synths were a nice touch. And don’t get me started on the glitchbeat.

I’ll skip on listing all the positive aspects of the track as to not appear overly sycophant, but frankly I’m having a hard time to come up with points of critique or comment. I suppose it did skip on one challenge “requirement” in that it’s not the most seamless loop there is (having a clear intro and outro). If this were a seamless loop this would be nearing perfection levels at least in regard to the challenge guidelines. And even without that it fills the rest of the “requirements” well.

In conclusion? Absolute. Banger. This really makes me want to dig up C++ and SFML again and conjure up some hellish arcade shooting action. This wasn’t a competition, but I’ll still give you the nominal title of “getting the biggest review score from me in this category”.

Hello Lashmush,

OMG what a great action strong music! That can fit to a Command and Conquert (Frank Klepacki) or a new generation of R-Type (Irem) or even to a race with deadly happend!
Good arrangement, sound perfect!

I like it! it has a bit of that waterflame charm. Definitely sounds like it would fit in Castle Crashers!

Very good. It's super actiony.
