Forgot about this little gem I made nearly seven years ago. I've always enjoyed the slow, thoughtful feel of Enigma, who makes some of the best new age/world music I had heard as a child and young teen. I wanted to try making something like that a while ago. It draws heavily from the style of Enigma, Mission Impossible, and Skyrim. This was one of my first decent attempts at a fusion between electronic and orchestral elements, and initially was the most cinematic piece I had ever made at the time. It's a bit of an older piece, bit I'm proud of how it came out.
All orchestral instrumentation was produced using the Squidfont Orchestral soundfont, a rather impressive free library of sounds with no listed author. As it is unusual to have a full orchestral soundbank for free, I have learned since using it years ago that the soundfont is of questionable legality, and have since ceased using it. If ever it is deemed truly illegal, I will take this piece down on demand. I now use a legal copy of BBC Symphony Orchestra Discovery instead for my newer orchestral pieces.
